I'm in the market for new boots to go over my neoprene socks on my drysuit. Anyone have any experience or recommendations about using the 5mm boot deep 6 sells?

While I absolutely love Deep 6 gear - I'd recommend Converse All Star Chuck Taylor High Tops! Get a pair that is 2 sizes bigger than your shoe size.

I picked up a great used pair for $25 on ebay - and you get to show off some style! (My pair are neon green - goes great with Deep 6 orange. :D)

Yes, Chuck taylors are a great eco option. I’ve got a few dozen dives on the Deep6 boots and they are easy on, comfortable and good grip. The only issue so far is one eyelet is out and that happened after only a few dives. I have about 4 different boot options for my DS but my first choice is the Deep6 boots.

I don't find Converse to be wide enough for my feet with enough exposure protection plus the neoprene sock. I went with Altama Maritime Assault Mid's. They're purpose designed for combat swimmers. They have much better tread than any rock boot, they drain quickly, and they even come in camo. They also have wide sizes and much better ankle support than Chuck Taylor's.

That happened to me too. Only on first dive with the Deep 6 boots. I still like them. I would suggest a neoprene sock to help get them off after the dive. I am also contemplating drilling a hole in the side to let the water out!
Comfy boots

Love my altamas. Though I don’t use them for diving. They are my range shoes
