I plan on getting it on golemgear for $290. I wouldnt spend more than $300 on a wing

Hmm I just noticed the #35 wing just came in stock as well. Now I might have some decisions to make the Oxycheq #30 or the VDH #35. I feel the #35 might be too much lift though?

Also I guess another weird question. If do lets say get a 30-35 lb lift wing would I just need a backplate change to aluminum if I go to warm water dives for vacations etc.

If you buy from Golem, call first to make sure the wing is in stock.

a) How much lead do you need on vacations and b) do you normally check in luggage?

If you're after a #35 wing I'm assuming you have steel doubles and 2x7mm suits at home?

I plan on most likely checking luggage if im traveling for diving

I usually dive with a single 7 MM sometimes with a hood, aluminum single tank in fresh water but do plan to do salt water dives in the future. Havent invested in a tank yet so im just renting for now. (NJ diver). Not necessarily out to get a #35 wing but VDH Argonaut just came in stock and i'm tempted to get either the #23 or the #35. Price is fantastic and heard the quality is good as well.

Unless you specifically need the extra lift I think that 23# would be fine. If you find you have made a mistake either way I imagine a VDH wing would be easy to sell.

There's also depth and amount of lead. I'm not sure I'd be comfortable with #23 in 7mm on deep dives -- but then I don't do any of those things so what do I know. When I get to dive locally (once every couple of years) I'm fine with my #25, but the bottom is at like 7 metres in the deepest part so there is no suit compression to speak of.

#30 should be plenty and you can choose between DGX and Deep6 if the $290 OxyCheq is unavailable.

I use the VDH 35 for cold water dry suit diving, it’s surprisingly compact for the lift.

how cold are you diving?
Low to mid 50’s most of the time, I carry 35 to 40 lbs of lead depending on how warm I want to be.
