Songkhla - Losin - Koh Kra - Koh Tao - Chumphon

I just leaned that this interesting trip has plenty of space available. The Tapana Catamaran departs Songkhla on May 22 and arrives in Chumphon the 27th. Five nights on the boat, four days of diving, 15 dives.

This is a unique opportunity to dive Koh Kra, which doesn’t get many divers. (Also, the first place I saw a whale Shark.) Losin is one of my favorite Thai dive sites.

This is a Thai boat with all that implies. Thai language. Mostly Thai food, Thai time. But, there will be plenty of people, including dive guides, who speak English. Cost is around US$1100.

That is a really unusual trip, can't say I've ever heard of any boats down there doing trips. How are "things" in Songkhla nowadays?

Last time I went down there to drop off an iguana there were a few annoying bombs going off.

If I had the $ I'd be strongly looking at the opportunity to see what's down there below the waterline.

Things are calm, but, as you know, that region has been restive for a very long time. I don't have any qualms about flying in to Hat Yai and taking a van to the port in Songhkla.

I've done this trip several times in the past; both north to south and the reverse. This was on the old Scuba Explorer when it was operated during the Gulf season by Samui Dive Service.
