Not the cheapest but: Wing Screw

Any shop that caters to technical divers should sell these. You really only need the plastic kind.

You can try a hardware or marine store. You don't need book screws, just a stainless or nylon screw and a wing nut.

I think that will have to be what I do, does the wing nut come close to touching your body when diving or should I just ensure a short enough bolt so that is not the case?

The wing nut should not protrude beyond the channel in the plate, so it should not poke you in the back.

Have you tried eBay? Here in the US there are several sellers from China selling the book screws much cheaper than Apeks.

Bit of a hijack but the topic title is spot on....

Ive been searching for how much webbing to buy for a basic one-piece harness. Ive maybe seen a couple references to 14-16 feet. I just measured a length of extension cord wrapped loosely around me in the shape of a harness and am being generous when I say I got 9 feet. So yeah...im thin. 150 lbs. 35" around my waist at the bellybutton where the waist belt would go.

Im just making sure im not missing something. I know webbing is cheap...its not a big deal to order more than I need

If I remember correctly basic harness kits come with 12 feet. I used to build my own, but I. now prefer the Dive Rite basic kit as it's all US-made (I believe) but it also has a grommet at the center point. The grommet isn't super important but it sure is nice and convenient. I've gotten hardware from Dive Rite, DGX, andPiranha and the DR stuff seems to be best quality along with DGX stuff (probably the same or close), some of the Piranha stuff I got a few years ago was just "good enough".

I have a 34-36" waist without a wetsuit on and I still seem to cut off at least 18" on a cold water setup.

I can tell you that the Halycon standard webbing is 12ft. So 12ft does seem to be a standard.

Edit...nevermind...figured it out. I have the Freedom Contour plate so it doesnt need the grommet...
