Atomic M1 jam nut size?

Never intended to make anyone feel silly. Some of us come from engineering backgrounds and some don't. I am a Heavy Duty Diesel Fitter so have done my fair share of measuring components and parts.
Aslong as someone learns then it is all good, I appreciate your thirst for knowledge and keen DIY attitude.

All good, I know that was not your intention, I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed and sometimes miss the most obvious, or perhaps I'm pure genius and the simple things don't register as too simple.

It's bigger, I have a 3/4/and it's too small. Got same batteries for my micrometer looks to be 20.6mm.
