Happy Place. Off the dock at Dive West. I'm torn though, last 2 trips have been to Bonaire. Bonaire or Curacao. I like them both but my wife prefers Bonaire, and she is a non-diver. Guess who wins? :daydream:

Two great places to dive and vacation. Nice to have tough choices. :) Airfare has made the choice easy for us. Will be returning to CUR again in Jan. Would like to get back to Bon though. Last trip was '16. Maybe a 10 day some day splitting time between the two. Happy diving.

I am going to be on my 3rd Curacao trip in 2 years in December. My last (and only) Bonaire trip was 20+ years ago. Airfare cost being the major reason....

Airfare to Bonaire has become pretty crazy, which is why my buddies and I decided to try curaçao, diving in Bonaire is easy but not much else going on, there was amazing food in curaçao for after diving. Ticket was at least 1/3 less than Bonaire, I can fly to Thailand for less money than Bonaire.

At some point it may change for Bon. Hoping for JB to dive in to the Bon market. Airfare is way too high for Bon with nothing to justify it except it is only served by legacy carriers and no competitive lower cost carriers. We are also finding CUR overall to be less expensive than Bon, especially staying, diving and dining on the western side of the island. I still like Bon though and would return if the airfare returns to "normal". It was in the $300s nonstop from NY in 2009. Now $800 plus making it a no go for us.

BTW, just checked air to Bon for the same week we would travel in Jan to CUR. It is actually $1,550.0 when you figure in a checked bag and seat choice. The JB fare for that week is not out yet but it will likely be $400 or less. Crazy.

Three of us are flying direct from Toronto (YYZ) to CUR for less than $1,500 total (round trip)....
