Lazy Turtle, you can book those flights because you live in Indo. Not so easy for the rest of us that don't. I have used Nusatrip, which worked out but wasn't able to book my seat in advance.
Tiket.com seems to work with most overseas cards or I have a travel agent that can book those and all Indonesian flights and takes overseas cards. Send me a message if you need their details.

De-gas in Bali for a day after a nitrogen loaded LOB before a dive intensive trip in Alor. Alor can be deep, cold and currenty so it's not a bad idea to rest and unwind in between the 2 trips.

I like the idea of a break...
There’s now an option of doing a Raja Ampat Liveaboard instead of Alor.
Thoughts?

I have 6-9 nights to play with and am trying to decide between the two. I haven’t been to either.
I know July and August in N. Sulawesi are the coldest of the year but both are amazing destinations.
Dive ops I have been looking at are Alor Divers, Bastianos in both Lembeh and Bangka, NAD and Black Sands.
I am not looking for anything in particular as far as sea life but would like an overall nice(great) dive experience with comfortable lodging and good food.

Thanks

I’m doing a Banda crossing from Ambon to Maumere in Oct and you are all making me nervous about warmth. I normally dive 5mm happily at 26 to like 30C. What will I need for that trip? Drysuit? :D

I am doing one in Sept and I want to hear the answers as well.

A DM who has done many such trips advised that, if you are going deep to look for schooling HH's, there might be a fair amount of waiting in one place rather than the (usually) mild swimming we usually do on dives, thus there might be an additional need for warmth. Also, it might be deeper.

In August better get to Alor as your LoB won't be going to Misool area.
If that is just for staying around Dampier then you could stay in a resort for cheaper.

I've decided to spend 2 nights in Sanur after the Komodo liveaboard and then head to Alor for 7 nights. I will then be able to take the nonstop flights, thankfully.
When I asked Gilles at Alor Divers about about their complimentary airport transfer not coinciding with the days of the direct flight from Denpasar, he said they were waiting to see but may change their schedule. This would save 65 Euro each way. Very nice.

I am looking forward to this trip and should get a pretty good sampling of Indonesia underwater.
Padangbai, Komodo, Alor.

When will you be diving Padang Bai? Is that your plan for the 2 days in Sanur?
