New to the forum thing, along with SCUBA diving. But, figured what better way, than just the dive shop, to meet other divers. Getting SSI certification through Midwest Aquatics, hopefully in mid-October, when I do my open water training at Table Rock Lake. I have finished the online portion, with the class time happening this weekend, WOW, that is tomorrow. My wife has already planned my first and second scuba adventure, after I get certified of course. First will be at Disney World at Epcot, with the second in the Bahamas, of course it is tied to a Disney Cruise for her!

Welcome to scuba and Scubaboard!

Welcome from SW Missouri! Are you planning much local diving?

I know Kansas, grew up there. Sounds like travel is in the game plan for you. Considering the Kansas dive options, sounds like travel is a good game plan.

You are going to Springfield (unless Midwest has moved in the past 20+ years), so at least you have access to some good semi-local diving.

What part of Kansas are you in? Guessing Eastern. KC is the big population spot but if your first dive shop is in Springfield you might be down in Pittsburg. That would make more sense for taking classes where you are taking them at. Just guessing anyway.

Welcome to ScubaBoard. It's a wonderful place to dive on land.

Welcome to SB and scuba diving! I grew up in Lyons about 90 minutes north of Wichita. Some of my first dives were at Kanopolis Lake...
Dive safe,
Chip

I am also new here. Greetings from a fellow Kansan! I grew up in the southwest corner of the Sunflower State. It sounds like you are off to a good start. Let us know how your dives go.
