Smart Trak to Logtrak import

Personally I think Scubapro/Uwatec is doing itself a disservice by not including a dive planner for its algorithm like Suunto did for its proprietary RGBM in DM5. To gain a better understanding of the Suuntos and what decompression profiles the computers were likely to generate, I was able to play with their algorithm within the DM5 software.

Because the G2 and previous Galileos use heart rate, breathing rate and temperature to adjust a diver's NDL and deco obligation, I downloaded both SmartTrak and LogTrak thinking they too had a dive planner like Suunto so I could better understand how these factors influenced the algorithm. I was disappointed that both programs do not have a dive planner which is a shame because reading these forums I think a lot of divers shy away from these features and turn them off because they don't have a complete understanding in how they work and how they will impact a dive.

My old Suunto Vyper had a nice dive simulator mode that I miss in my G2. Nevertheless the Vyper got thrown out after it locked me out for 48 hrs for no valid reason.

This is sort of an old thread, but I just found a bit of information that may be useful to those of you still struggling with the unsupported Scubapro dive log software. Like many others, I had been logging my dives in Smart Trak for a long time, and wanted to get them to a Mac. Logtrak for Mac had no way to transfer dives and I really wanted to keep my logbook going in one program, not use several. I ended up being a VERY satisfied Mac-Dive customer, and now use Shearwater computers. However, I just found a great tool to convert a Smart Trak .slg file to a Subsurface log so you can use divelog software that is actually supported. The converter is here: https://thetheoreticaldiver.org/rch-cgi-bin/smtk2ssrf.pl You upload your .slg and is spits out a Subsurface log. It converted approximately 600 of my logged dives in a matter of a few seconds. If you had your heart set on something other than Subsurface, you can then export the log from Subsurface to whichever supported software you like. Like I mentioned, I'm REALLY happy with Mac-Dive, but I did the .slg conversion on a Windows 10 laptop and a MacBook Pro running 10.14.2 and both showed the converted data in Subsurface. Having cross platform compatibility is a cool option too.

Does anyone know where Logtrak stores the datafile?
I have been poking around on my laptop in all the different ways but I can't find the logfiles I created with Logtrak.
I would like to step over to Divinglog 6.0 and that program could import the Logtrak file they say but even Divinglog 6.0 can't find the file.

Please HELP!!

Unlike other diving logs, Logtrak is a little different. The file is called jtrak.script and in Windows you can find it via the following path: C:\Users\users name\.jtrak\DB_V4\jtrak.script

You're great! thanks for the info, never thought that file as my log book.
Stupid guys at Scubapro, they make a **** program and hide the log files in ****** names.
I'm discussing with Scubapro Benelux about the stupidity of that program compared to the old Smarttrak but I guess I can't win that discussion.

I agree, although I like the clean modern interface of Logtrak, SmartTrack can do so much more! It has the computer interface and compartment bar graph allowing you to watch the changes as you scrolled through your dive. Also you can add notes directly onto the dive chart. Logtrak has a GPS map that doesn't currently work and yet they launched the HUD which captures GPS co-ordinates. I would be pretty disappointed after purchasing a HUD to find out the desktop software doesn't work. Hopefully they will sort this out soon and bring Logtrak up to Scubapro standard; "Deep down we want the best!"

I realise the original post was about transferring dives from SmartTrack to Logtrak. But now that we know Logtrak is a bit of a disappointment, why not try to transfer from Logtrak to SmartTrack? I tested it on my system and it worked! But I am transferring dives from a Galileo Sol so I am not sure if it would work with say a G2 but here is how I did it.

In Logtrak
Highlight a dive or a couple of dives using the shift key. (just as a test)
On the menu bar hit Logbook, then Export
The file exported is a TravelTrak file with a *.asd extention
Save the file

Open SmartTrack
On the menu bar Hit Logbook, then Import
In the file selection choose TravelTrak CE Logbook (*.asd)
Locate the .asd file you created in Logtak and import it.

I would be interested to know if G2 owners can import their dives from LogTrak into SmartTrack using the above method.

Had to try it but no luck on my side.
When I tried it with about 800 dives I got the message "DC not supported"
With just a couple dives it accepted it but I ended up with a 0kb .asd file and in SmartTrak 0 dives were imported.

gggrrrrr solved the DC not supported pop-up

The stupid program only lets me export the dives made with my G2C and not all the other dives previous made with my old SmartCom!!!
BUT ... importing my G2C dives only back into SmartTrak I got the error message "This version of SmartTrak does not support your model dive computer: 32."
My version of SmartTrak is 2.0801, I looked at the Scubapro website and there is a version 2.9 available but my browser/firewall doesn't let me download this.

Thanks for trying. 800 dives! That's why I suggested only one or a couple as a test I kind of expected it wasn't going to work but now its confirmed. As for version 2.9, I was able to download it from the European Scubapro site. For what its worth, I've uploaded the install file for you.
