I will be staying at Scuba Club Cozumel between 08/10/19 and 08/17/19. I have the morning dives covered. However, I would like to plan afternoon dives with another dive shop for variety. Does anyone have suggestions for dive shops that are close to Scuba Club. Just for the afternoons only.

Tres Pelicanos. They do afternoon dives if there are 2 people booked (you need to double check with them to confirm policy and timing). They can pick you up.

That’s the one I’m aware of but I’m sure there are others.

good shore diving right on site. that is always an option. night dives there are great. for boat dives, Dive Paradise is right next door at Hotel Cozumel.

Doesn't SCC prohibit dive companies other than the house shop picking up divers at their pier?

I guess SCC's attitude & schedule will play a part in whether or not you can do this. If they don't mind you hanging onto your gear to dive with another op step one is done. Step 2 will be whether they have you back to base in time to get to another op. I suspect getting to Dive Paradise (at Hotel Cozumel) will work out because I think their PM dives leave around 2:00 PM but I think 3P's leaves the marina at 1:30 PM which means you need to be on the street for pick up well before that.

I use ScubaLuis always. You can either meet at the Caleta or he can sometimes pick up from hotel. You can find him on facebook and his reviews on TripAdvisor

Perfect, Thanks, I will start with Dive Paradise as it is so close. I have been to SCC before and the shore diving is fun as an alternative to going out on a boat. I have not used Dive Paradise yet but will give them a try for the afternoons.

Thanks again everyone,

We last were at SCC in April. They don’t permit other operator pickups at the club pier. The AM boats usually return around 12:30 or 12:45, so making an afternoon connection with another operator will be tight unless you have a quick lunch. My guess is SCC will not be full the week you are there so the afternoon and night dives offered may not generate enough divers and may be cancelled.
