Picked up and Oceanic Isla BCD with integrated weight system and the pockets included but no weights. Looks like it was barely used to be honest, no fading at all that I can see. I know it's marketed towards women but being a heavy guy I am not too worried especially as it's just black and blue. Pink would have been another story. The Air2 as far as I can tell is a 4th Gen.

Have not hooked it up to a tank but the BCD holds air when I inflate it by mouth and the dump valves work. I also pulled the valves and looked at the threaded port as well as inside as much as I could and from what I can see it's nearly pristine. When it is inflated and I press the power inflate button I can hear the air backflow through the valve so as far as I can tell everything is working fine. I am going to be heading over to where I trained and use it in their pool/check it out on Thursday.

So how did I do? I paid 45 and 30 to ship it by the way. Now I need to find a good deal on some regulators to go along with it. And I actually intend to do the maintenance I can myself unless the dive shop works me a good deal on taking care of the stuff. Anything I need to look for or issues that may come up with this BCD or the Air2?

You paid $75 for a BCD that retailed for $400+? Not bad, irrespective if the gender target. The question - does it FIT you?

The weight pockets are worth that because they are not made anymore. (white nylon retainer)

Yep it fits just fine. Glad I got the weight pockets with it then too.

I looked at the bag it came in this evening and the BCD itself originally sold for 475 and the Air2 was probably around 250 from what I can tell but I know everything is older and used. I think the BCD was a 1998 model and the Air2 was probably around 2006 to 2010.

Nice BCD's. My wife has used one for years and I used another similar Oceanic. Good stuff, but be very careful the lock is routed correctly or the weight pouch will fall out. I chased one of mine to the bottom at 60' once.

Thanks for the info. Do yours velcro and clip in or just clip in? I believe the one I have is the QLR2. The velcro itself seems pretty stout but I can imagine in the right position it could come undone.

In that case yours is newer. Entirely different system.

Ok so not as much need to worry about it then I assume.

Going to pick up some stuff to make some weights tomorrow before I head over to try it out. Will take me a bit to make the weights but I figure 45 for 25 pounds of lead shot is a lot better than paying about the same amount for 10 pounds of already made weights. Will probably make them up in 1 and 2 pound increments so I can adjust the weight as I need to. Make up 15 pounds worth or so for me and then put a couple together as spares or sell them.
