Guess you missed the thread that says otherwise. Many of us hate cloud. They just need to make cloud emulate a better version of desktop and they’ll be good. Or better yet, make all computers compatible with desktop.

Yes there's a bit of 'Cloud Hate' going around but the goal of this thread is to be constructive about helping SW’s Cloud to improve.

I have seen the threads but they don't speak for me or all Shearwater Cloud users. I also know that people are a lot more vocal with complaints than they are positive comments. Have you answered the OP's questions?

I actually don’t have that many issues with Cloud. Just would prefer to keep my own backups in iCloud as I mentioned before. I prefer MacDive, partially as I’ve been using it since I first started diving, so I have all my dives in one place.

Not trying to be mean, but your comments are why myself and some friends limit our time on SB these days. We come to the Shearwater page, to find info and talk about Shearwater products. I could care a less about your MacDrive program. If I wanted to use it, I would not be here. To be honest, over a number of posts, your MacDrive posts could fall under the category of bullying. If you have productive info about Cloud or another Shearwater Product, please pass it along. Otherwise, be polite and post about MacDrive on a MacDrive forum. Thank you.

Ummmm, IDK the history here, but MacDive was one piece of software I was wanting to know more about from users w.r.t. its features that SWC doesn't have. Naturally, I'm not after 'MacDive is great, Cloud Sux' as that's not constructive/tangible re helping Cloud improve. I would love to hear about specific MacDive (orDive Log etc etc) features that are lacking in Cloud that haven't yet been mentioned.

There's always the Ignore feature to resort to too.

I hope my comment doesn't contribute to you limiting your time on SB. I did consider whether to post this in Basic/Advanced or the SW forum, but as I reaaalllllyyyyy want SWC to improve and SW to take note I put it here.

BTW, did you get your Teric issues sorted?

I wish the shearwater phone app was capable of dive planning. Instead of using the computer itself or having to open multideco or the sorts. Maybe even plan a dive and reverse upload it to the computer. Then you would have a reference to click to while doing the dive so you knew what stops you had coming up instead of reading your slates.

The one MacDive feature I like is that I can get my RMV in cft/min, rather than PSI/min. You have the option to check if you're using double tanks in MacDive, plus set the size of tanks. I always dive the same size tanks (either single or doubled up). Having that RMV in cft/min, means I can plug it into calculations for dive planning stuff without having to do the additional math to get the psi/min into cft/min (I'm not fond of math). As I previously mentioned, you have the option to backup to either iCloud or Dropbox. I would prefer to have control of my backups.

But with SW Cloud being free, it's not THAT bad. I actually download my dives to BOTH apps. Each offers different things. I've been using MacDive since I started diving (Oceanic Geo 2.0) so it's nice to continue to use it to have ALL my dives in one app.

Bullying? :rofl3:

And it's MacDIVE, not MacDRIVE.

:shakehead:

One of the purposes of having your dive plan on a slate is so you have something to refer to if your computer craps out. Having your dive plan on your computer doesn’t help if the computer malfunctions.

I fully understand this. I was just responding to the OP.
