A couple months ago I stumbled across a thread in accidents (I think) linked to an article about a saturation diver disconnected from his umbilical. Returning from business yesterday came across the movie version. Mostly a documentary it combines actual footage & audio from the event and interviews with the persons involved. Interesting insights into saturation diving, the contained spaces the divers live in, etc. I found the article harrowing, the movie even more so. Check it out if you happen to be flying Delta. To any of the members here who do this, my hats off to you.

It is also on Netflix. Pretty intense stuff. Glad the guy survived.

I hadn’t heard the story yet, and figured surely he was dead. When he walked into the interview I had freaking chills. Really powerful stuff

I loved that when I saw it on Netflix. Sure did make my hear pound and is quite the roller coaster of emotions.

That guy Dave was like a fricken robot on autopilot.

Right?? There is one line of his and it's along 'there is David the father and husband, and then there's Dave at work and things go wrong at work and this Chris guy wasn't one of my kids, and he dies, OK...' Later after Dave retrieves Chris he (Dave) states he's mad at him.

I understand folks like that. When crisis strikes these are the folks you want on your team. But the line came across as rather cruel, even though it may not have been intended as such or maybe it was.
