My wife and I wanted to take a road trip next year and try to dive at least once in every state? Looking for some recommendations for each! Please post the site you recommend and if you would like any relevant info? I will create a master list from the replies! and TY

Lake Mojave - there's a small dive park there -shop is in Nearby Bullhead City. , Maybe Lake Powell since it's often very clear. The kayak place rents tanks,
Lake Pleasant is near Phoenix but mehhh. Lake Havasu is fed by the sily Colorado river so usually cloudy.
California
La Jolla Cove in San Diego is world famous, Get there real early. You can also dive the Point Loma Kelp Beds via boat - try Waterhorse Charters. Catalina or the Channel Islands near LA. There's Kelp at some of them. Anacapa Island has Kelp and Sea Lions. You'll want to stay in Ventura or Santa Barbara for the boats - it's several hours drive from lAX.In N. CA probably Monterey for Kelp and Otters
Florida
The Keys or the Jupiter Beach area
Hawaii
Anywhere, Kona has the Manta Night Dive, it makes the top 50 Dives in the World lists, Oahu has some divable WWII wrecks Kauai's signature dive is Ni'ihau - omly done on an all day boat in the summer, Maui has good dives plus morning boat trips to Molokini Crater, the Cathedrals off Lanai or Hammerheds off Molokai.

Lake Mead - shops in Vegas go there. For big bucks dive the Shark Tank at Mandalay Bay.

Ocean boat diving - mostly wrecks, We liked Express Watersports near Myrtle Beach. There's also several options in Charleston which is a great town to sightsee plus the SC Aquarium is there. Also Blackwater teeth dives nearby ib Ciooper River but watch for gators

You can hit IL and IN waters in one weekend with the Double Action boat out of Hammond, IN.

AZ, if you are around Phoenix Lake Pleasant is really the only choice. Winter/spring is better for clarity but colder. There are some places you can shore dive and see stuff. The gem (that takes a boat) is diving the old dam. The current lake covers the old lake, and the old dam is completely submerged. The lake varies the water lever throughout the year. The other year there was a 70' swing between high and low. When full the top of the old dam is around 100'. The other year it was as close at 30'. To help gauge Lake Pleasant Water Level

The other AZ options is lake Hohave. Right up by Las Vegas. Look across the river (it is the Colorado river that is dammed up just below Hoover) and you are looking into Nevada. There is some attractions on the AZ side, sunk boats, school bus.
Lake Powell can be dove, have not done it in years. One little corner is in AZ. Would be a check box but little more than that.

California has so much to offer it isn't worth listing. What do you want?

I am guessing you will have your share of lakes in all the other states. So keeping with the unique theme there is a missile tower in Texas that is a dive destination. There is another one up around Washington state I think as well, but that one is more of an abandoned location.

Missouri will probably be Bonne de Terr lead mine. That is probably the most unique place. There are lakes down by Arkansas.

NM has the Blue Hole in Santa Rosa right off I-40.

Utah has some dive place that has sharks in salt water, something like that. I am sure you can find more on that one. Or hit Lake Powell on the border with AZ.

Arkansas-Beaver Lake, Greers Ferry Lake, Bull Shoals Lake

Kansas-Wilson Lake, maybe. I have not been there yet. Fort Scott Lake is near me, but have not tried it yet.

Missouri-Table Rock Lake, Bull Shoals Lake. Bonne Terre Mine is, reportedly, in the midst of a lawsuit. No way of knowing if that will be an option for your trip.

Oklahoma-Tenkiller Lake may be worth checking out.
