OK, trying to set this up. Wondering if this is within the range of what diving costs there.

We have six people, and one of the operators has a six pack dive boat. They quoted me $206 (including taxes and gear rental) per person for a half day, two tank boat dive. No discount for chartering the whole boat.

Is that typical? Seems a bit high for me for a half day, but I haven't done a lot of this warm water dive destination diving lately. I guess if that's reasonable, will think about it....

Seems a little on the high side, but not out of the ballpark high. Where are they taking you from and to?

I think that it's the Molokini crater from western Maui.

Called another shop and it was $235! I guess that's just what it costs there...

plan on getting up early, Ed likes to leave around 6am from the Kihei ramp and traffic makes the hour drive from Ka'anapali longer. Although most of it will be tour buses and resort workers going To your area.

The boat ramp is on the north side of Kihei so might be a little less. Ed himself might be your guide, was for my buddy.

After Molokini if they move back near Maui for the 2nd dive you might ask about Umekahame Beach, there's a Manta cleaning station there. Not the best dive though if they're not there. My buddy saw 3 there with Ed,

IDK their current prices but did you check with Extended Horizons in Lahaina? They'll be going to Lanai.

2 boat dives for $100 is pretty typical. They have to eat also.

Oh, yeah, and maybe it's just an expensive place in general, so everything else is higher too! A 2 tank boat dive for $100 would be great, I was just wondering about a 2 tank boat dive for $200.

But it is what it is...
