This past week I've shared numerous e-mails with Bryan in an effort to place an order...

No trouble in having Bryan return my e-mails...but having said that...no return correspondence which enabled me to get an order processed...or at the very least...advising ''no new orders'' are currently being accepted/processed...nothing...

If you've tried placing an order with VDH you will know that the order placement template will not function if the requested item is showing ''out of stock''...which includes just about everything he has listed...

I know from our discussions that his Kraken deliveries are way behind...and because of other commitments...full time work position...assuming family...and others...he is only able to assemble 12 Kraken units a month...which is so low...it's almost non existent...

I believe...and I'll hold my hand up if I'm wrong...which I doubt...that burning the candle at both ends...an inadequate business model...and no cash flow has taken its toll...and VDH...is near its end...

Like so many before him...and so many that will come after...being a nice guy...being a keen diving enthusiast...and thinking you may have a product of interest...is not enough on its own to run a successful dive industry business...

You can't sell what you don't have...

I offered Bryan R&D funds a few years ago when the Kraken was being developed...he turned me down because I'm Canadian...looks like...from they way things appear to be going...he did me a favor...

19 years ago when I started VDH the naysayers claimed I was a fraud and phony and wouldn't last a year.....10 years after that the Argonaut Kraken was introduced after crowdfunding 40k in 5 hours the naysayers predicted that everyone would be scammed and no one would get their new double hose. After I delivered all Argonaut Kraken orders on schedule the same sky is falling crowd predicted I'd never make any more of them. And here we are today, almost 500 Argonaut Kraken's later and somehow I have managed to squeak by.
I gave up responding to unfounded criticism as it simply added validity to the critic and made me look like I had something to hide or apologize for. Of the thousands of happy customers I have had there are always a few that will complain about the free gold bar I sent them because it weighed too much.
I'll run the business on my own terms or not at all and let the customers vote with their cash and the others gnash their teeth in angst which is no skin off my nose as they were't buying anything anyway. At the end of the day I did what I wanted and on my own terms and I'm quite content with that. I know by morning I will have received at least one or more emails from customers sharing their vacation pictures diving with their new Kraken or other equipment I've helped them restore and that's kinda what makes it all worth the hassle.
Customers, Friends, Dive Buddies and to everyone else I say You do you and I'll do Me and wish you the best of luck.
As far as Canadian money goes I don't really have any use for it as there is no Timmy Hortons in my city so I would have no place to spend it.

See you in the funny papers!

If I remember correctly, you have recently given up diving, so I don't see the point of your question-besides, you've come up with your own answers. Don't underestimate Bryan.

See this thread:
Has anyone been able to order from vintagedoublehose.com?

His empty shelves...and inoperative ordering template speak for themselves...

He still hasn't given reason why my purchase request can't/won't be filled...

He can't operate with no stock...try and place an order on an item showing ''no stock''...and see how far you get...

What I've been attempting to buy is a gift...for a friend...you're assumption regarding my retirement is wrong...

Further...the purchase would be in Bryan's preferred USD...I don't know what Tim Horton's has to do with anything...

His rambling rant...tells me and everybody else whose reading this forum...his current state...

He wrote four paragraphs...and said absolutely nothing...and my order still has not been accepted/confirmed/processed...

Oh jeeeeeze..... I know what is causing the gravel in the panties.

When I am out of inventory that is ready for immediate shipping, I alter the program by not allowing a sale of out of stock items ....That way no one is P.O'd when they order and pay for something that may not be delivered to them for months if ever.... This is common practice in E commerce but I failed to realize not everyone may have been aware of this fact.

I haven't been to your website, is the item clearly marked as NA? If not, maybe that would be a good option. Even a "Notify when in" button would be good. Waiting on product is a horrible feeling, especially when people want to spend. It's hard to figure the proper lead time and like most in this industry, there's not enough margin to justify oodles of inventory.

Thank you Mr. Chairman.

I used to have an add on that allowed the customer to be notified when a product went back in stock. I stopped using that because the app provider also sent each email subscriber 20 emails a day using my business name as the subject line and all 20 were for questionable offers and or products.....I had to delete.
Margins are slim and some stuff sells better at some times of the year than others. So I simply dont tie up liquid cash till I know a quick return will happen. The horror stories I could tell about stuff I've stacked deep and then had to sell at a loss cause I was wrong about the market make me question my sanity.

Do you understand what "no stock means?" Try crossing a river where the sign says, "Bridge Out" and see how far you get.

I'll just say that I ordered gear from VDH when it was in stock and never had a problem. Great products and Bryan is super responsive; I vote for more folks to buy from him, not only good equipment but passionate about diving and preserving history.
