Definitely one of our most unique and amazing dives. Here's an edited version of our 40-minute dive July 2019:

Damn, that looks cold but beautiful! How deep do you get? Water temperature?

Per Jonathan Bird's Youtube Video, only a couple of degrees above freezing.

Max depth for non-tech divers is about 40-50 ft. Water temp just above freezing. But in a drysuit, I really didn't mind the temp. Sure; your cheeks go numb within a minute or so, but I didn't find it the least bit problematic. I've had much colder "cheek" issues skiing. Definitely worth the amazing experience!

Brrrrr . . .I couldn't do it. Coldest water I've been in was around 40-45F (many years ago, so memory not good) and that was plenty cold enough

Well; if you ever get to Iceland, which is beautiful enough without the diving - Silfra definitely is worth checking off any dive wish list. We did the 5-day dive tour with Fraser, at dive.is, and can't recommend it enough.

5 days! Omg

Darwin's Arch, Galapagos.

Pretty much any cave system in the Aventuras Akumal - Tulum corridor.

Southern Red Sea - Brothers, Daedalus....

San Clemente Island on a clear day.

Been to all several times and would go back in a heartbeat.

Red Sea is on our list, as well. Totally agree with cenotes around Tulum. Here's a short video of a dive we did at the Calavera (Temple of Doom) cenote a couple years ago: We'll be checking out San Clemente!
