Begs the question why did rEvo get into bed with him in the first place. Did they not do any background checks before they appointed him?? Or was it all based on his sales?
Have you not spoken to Sotis?

He is earnest, he tells a great story, and he sold a ton of rEvos. Very personable, easy to talk to. There is a name for people like that.

If he did not ship outside of the US and instead sold dive equip. to a domestic US entity - is that is illegal? I'm not sure I understand?

problem is that he already knew it was a just shell company that was picking up the gear and was told by the commerce agent not to go through with the sale. and the gear got nabbed in europe afterwards while trying to be moved to libya.

Yes, I've spoken to him multiple times. He badgered me, multiple times, to become a dealer. When it is too good to be true, and you care about your reputation (In My Humble Opinion) you run the other way. YRMV.

I don't know how the law is written/interpreted here, and I am not a lawyer, but I do have an everyday example that may be illustrative: If I am a clerk in a liquor store, and the customer in front of me is old enough but is obviously buying for a minor either with them or waiting outside, it is my responsibility to refuse the sale. A lot of people just don't get that, and think as long as the money is presented by someone of legal age that is all the law requires. Wrong. At least in my state...
I would not be surprised if there is a similar corollary here.

Conspiracy in itself is a federal crime. That’s one of the charges.

The US Attorneys Office never loses. Take that to the bank. Sotis is going to learn a new vocation at the expense of the taxpayer, sheet metal trade would be my guess.
