Hi all, anyone know where I can get a nato strap to replace the strap on my Oceanic Geo 2.0 that's long enough to fit around a wetsuit? I'm thinking 13 inches? I've only found one place, and it's 25 lbs + 10 for shipping. Kind of a lot for a strap.

I'd rather not buy the OEM one for $45.

Thanks.

If you still have the Geo packaging, check it. There may be an extender in it.

I have a Geo 2.0 and went for years with it stretched to the limit around my 8mm suit. I always wondered why the Geo strap was so short -- doesn't Oceanic realize some of us use thick wetsuits/drysuits?!?!?

Recently, I randomly looked in the packaging and saw that there was a strap extender. Whoops.

Alternatively, if you have an old watch that you don't use with a strap of roughly the same size, you can cut off the strap and rig up an extender yourself. Or if you don't mind being ghetto, just use a strip of plastic or leather and punch some holes in it as an extender.

When I attempted to put a NATO strap on to my GEO 2, I found that the limiting factor was the thickness of the material used in the strap. I ordered a few different straps and none of them worked. None would fit between the case and the retaining pin. Eventually, I gave up and just put the original straps back on and secured the pins with a drop of Loc-Tite.

Thank you so much. The Nitrox-17 was exactly what I was looking for.
Yeah, I had not run across these until this thread. The 12" strap I have is sufficient for a 3mm wetsuit, but I hadn't tried it with my 7mm yet. I went ahead and ordered a couple of the 17" straps just because.

Thanks for that link @M-Cameron .
