Looking at the lower photograph. When the buttons are slightly depressed and turned ant-clockwise about an 1/8 turn; when locked, don't the purge buttons drop into the regulator a couple mm like the G260?

Yes, they have the same seat saver purge as the G260, but you return them to dive position prior to turning on the tank. I may be misunderstanding you, sorry.

I wish I could afford them :(

Tempting!...very tempting! I have one on order already....

Parts I need to complete the next 11 are being shipped Thursday this week. The remainder are still waiting on the orifices which are being shipped sometime in December apparently, why it's taking so long is beyond me. Anyway the last 4 won't be ready till mid to late December. So if anyone wants the last two they won't have to pay until late December early January.

Just recieved two brand new Buddhasummer Subapro G250V'S! They look perfect and were packaged to withstand the Postal Service. Simon takes a lot of pride in his craft. I consider myself fortunate to get a modern classic that is recognizeable and serviceable globally. At half the cost of a comparable second stage, I now have: balanced, adjustable, primary and secondary regulators with VIVA, and a high level of cold water capability (EN250A). I echo what others have stated: superb quality and easy process. Thanks again Simon for readily sharing you advice and expertise.
