Congrats on get it up and going!!!

If that is where the leak is, and extra wraps of Teflon helped. Replacing the Teflon tape with the Locktite that Luis H mentioned as thread sealant should work.

Thanks!
I'll probably just live with the slow leak for now.... But if I wait till January to get it in the water I'm sure I'll do something about it. Also, as I told someone else, pictures or it didn't happen!

Turns out the short yoke just barely fits on the Thermo convertible valve on my pony!

Did you try the soapy water technique to see if that could pinpoint the leak? Or just put the hookah fitting back on to see if that stops it.

Not yet... Honestly the assembly and little bit of testing has been in between working on 3 major projects that aren't scuba related (therefore far more important in the wife's eyes!). I'm either going to soapy water test or tub test when time permits.

OK. Got everything hooked up and it had a very slow leak. Put it in the tub and it was coming from the splitter. About 1 BB sized bubble every second or so. Probably would be just fine. I have a tendency to be a bit anal at times so I undid the splitter from the regulator and applied a very thick layer of Teflon tape. Put it back on and snugged it down very tight. It`s been sitting under pressure for an hour with the air turned off and has dripped to 2200 psi from 2230 psi. I`m gonna call that good. No discernable bubbles and the IP at that pressure is 125. I`ll fine tune the IP at a lower pressure, but am very happy with these results. Hell, the 30 lb pressure drop may just be from sitting in cold water. When I work the second stage lever the IP drops to around 70 and then pops back up to around 100 and then climbs to about 120. Don`t know if that is normal or not but will be checking it out in the pool in the near future.

Sounds like similar results on the splitter, i.e. lots of tape works out!
Regarding the IP, I haven't messed with double hose till now, but first stage is the predecessor of the Conshelf... With a good seat and orifice I would expect a pretty crisp lockup. You description would lead me to check for a small nick in the orifice edge or a impression on the seat that doesn't line up (reads to me like IP is set at 100, but a small imperfection in the seat or orifice lets a little air past and 120 psi is enough to finish sealing it)
As always, my advice is worth what you paid for it!
Respectfully
James

Once you cycle your 2nd stage a few hundred times the seat should lock up immediately at your desired IP without creep. Some folks cycle a lot less but I go to the other end of the spectrum. Good luck. :)

I examined the seat with a magnifier and it was perfect. Like scubalawyer said, I think it just needs to cycle a bit to get a good lock up. We`ll see. Thanks guys!!
