You didn't need all those fingers did you?
Well, that's my question. An earlier post said "Stuck trigger for other reasons would be handled just like all our other scooters using the techniques taught in DVP class. Ride the scooter, try to identify an issue you can solve, pull scooter towards chest, run into bottom, hand in prop etc." This implies you could stick your hand into the prop and just stop it. Is that really feasible, without injury?

Sticking your hand into the blades is not how it's done and is just plain stupid. Some scooters have an adjustable prop, you hit the adjuster with your hand and (hopefully) the scooter loses thrust. This is an emergency technique. It's one of many things taught in a proper DPV course.

You can certainly do it with all our scooters, As Jack said, it shouldn't be your first action, but its a useful skill to know and is taught in DPV. In the past when Gavins were the big scooter on the block and people believed NiMh and brushless motors would kill them, we would spend the whole day at trade shows demonstrating this.

A CUDA X-prop would hurt a little, then the shear pin would break...

Just like a bandaid or condom cath... no easing into it, just go for it!

Are the piranha and blacktip props interchangeable?
ie will one spare prop serve both scooters?

The blades on the Blacktip are the same as the Piranha Xprop, but other parts are different. That gets you commonality on the most likely part to break.

New interview with Blacktip Test diver, Aaron Moser :

So let me see if I understand what you're saying: remove your condom cath by wrapping the pee tube onto the prop and then hitting the trigger so it winds up the tube and strips off the condom part?

Dive Xtras indicated "by Christmas" at DEMA.

As of Wednesday afternoon, they were working on building and testing them, but they had no firm ship date yet on the three I ordered at DEMA, and I'm very close to the top of the order list.

I'm hoping to meet with a customer to deliver one the week prior to Christmas, so I'm also anxious for firm ship date to set up an initial dive with the customer and also some demo dives for other potential customers.
