I know you can delete dives from the Teric log (on the computer itself), and that you can renumber dives in Shearwater Desktop or any other log program, and you can change the “next” dive number in the log on the Teric, but is there a way to change the number of an existing dive in the log on the Teric itself?

I did 1 dive today, but setting my float and checking something for my wife caused the Teric to log 2 dives (of like 1 minute each) before our main dive. So I deleted those two dives from the Teric log, but now the numbering in the Teric log skips over two numbers. Is there any way to change that “third” dive from dive number 387 to dive 385 (for example) in the Teric log?

I am not sure about your specific question but I would think that the Teric has a setting like the Perdix where you can specify how long you are at the surface before it counts it as 2 separate dives, remember to jack that setting up a bit so it doesn't keep spitting out these split dives every time you go up for a second.

Yeah, I thought I had that setting up, but I guess not. It's not a big deal...more my OCD seeing the Teric log with a "gap" in numbering, but I know you can edit dive numbers in the Petrel 2's logs, so you'd think you could do it in the Teric's as well.

Scroll right through that dive and there's an edit option on the last page.
I did that and didn't see an "edit" option...the last page allows me to delete the log or exit, but I'll look again. The edit option is available on my Petrel 2 and my wife's Perdix, but I didn't see it on the Teric.

Yeah sorry mate,I have a Perdix. I assumed the Teric's log would be the same.

FWIW, I heard back from Shearwater and this ability to "edit" the dive numbers in the Teric log is not available at the current time. They may include this feature (like it is on the Perdix and Petrel 2) in a future firmware.

And here we are, 4 years later, and sadly, the option to renumber dives is still not available like on Peregrine, for ex.

I was just going to post this question as I’d been using mine in the pool just to test. Did 2 open water dives and wanted to delete the pool dives and renumber the open water dives to match my Perdix. Surely it can’t be that difficult to update the software?
