IWhen the diver came up 10 minutes after getting in the water...

If this is accurate, that certainly suggests something wasn't right.... IMHO anyway.

In hindsight, I could see one making that assumption, however the victim did not bring a problem to the attention of the crew, and the crew didn't notice any unusual behavior that would have directly led to the collapse.

What would you, as a dive proffessional, do if someone called a dive (possibly a solo dive), came back aboard, and acted normally?

I'd ask if everything was OK.

It all depends on how he hit his head. Luck of the draw, sometimes it’s in the exact wrong spot... and if you are falling while unconscious, all bets are off. It’s how most boxers die in the ring, they get knocked out and their head bounces off the canvas.

Dove Tinian one time and my buddy and I were in the hotel the next morning after diving the day before. We were having breakfast when his eyes rolled up in his head and he went down (may have had something to do with being up late in the casino the night before). I caught him before he hit the floor, but he kind of clipped the window sill on the way down, giving him a nice shiner. He came to a minute later, none the worse for wear... but if it had happened while he’d been in full SCUBA gear and went down and hit his head on something hard... it could have ended up considerably worse for him.

I would have absolutely asked him why he was back in 10 minutes, and if he gave me some lame answer, I would have pressed him for a better one. I'm annoying that way. I've had that exact thing happen a handful of times over the years, and in every case, something wasn't right. Thankfully, nobody stood up and keeled over, but I slapped the O2 on more than a couple of people. DCS, IPEs, "dark nark" but usually just bunged up ears or sinuses... all kinds of silliness.

Did they ever find out what happened to him? He just collapsed like that? Dose not make any sense!
