It was a Tec dive and I always check SurfGF on both Teric and Petrel upon surfacing. The DCs show 67%. The SW Cloud shows 39%. Can’t be right.

Also the latest SW Cloud iOS update released today is now showing avg sac rate of zero on all previous dives. :(.

Avg SAC rate is zero for all dives on windows and android too.
Hello everybody. The latest version of Shearwater Cloud (2.5.8) has a bug with user-inputted pressures not calculating SAC rate. Our developers are actively working on a fix. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Shearwater Cloud 2.5.9 has now been released, fixing the crash on iOS and the SAC rate bug. It also adds 24h / AM/PM settings.

SWC:

As an owner of a Perdix and a Teric, I just want to say thank you, and I’m certainly positive I represent many Scuba Board users, in stating we appreciate your willingness to listen to thoughts and comments and the fact that you are so responsive. This goes a long way.

The latest version of Shearwater Cloud (2.5.8) should show the End Surface GF in the Computer Information panel of the dive (above where it states the dive mode).

We are continuing to actively work on the app and we appreciate all the customer feedback. We continue to take this feedback into consideration when making our product plans.

Hello, just updated to 2.5.9 version. The missing SAC Rate is displayed :). Also the End Surf GF is also shown on the Info Panel :). Thank you for the fixes. Questions:

1. What is the time frame for locking in the End Surf GF? Is it immediately upon Depth = 0 (ie surfacing) or is it based on the user inputted End Of Dive in the settings (eg 10s, 30s, 1m, etc.). The SurfGF will change (decrease) over time.

2. Kindly take a look at the iOS graph/chart. It’s difficult to move the marker on the graph to the very end of the dive. Lots of trial and error to get it aligned to the end. Much of the critical info needed is at the end of the dive.

Thank you again and happy new year :).

I don’t know if it has already been suggested, but I would love one more level for geographic information. At present there is Location and Site. As I dive internationally, I could use Country, Location, and Site.

Hi @Shearwater. There is a discrepancy between the END SURFACING GF found on the Info Panel on SWC and the SurfGF in the Teric/Petrel (data was noted immediately upon surfacing).

I’ve confirmed this on Tec dives yesterday and today. Gap is 13 to 25%.

Could you kindly take a look as the SurfGF is a very useful data to have for each logged dive.

Thanks and Happy New Year.

You know what would be really trick?

The sliding data point that moves across the graph with the mouse, make the data a Shearwater display. Let it look and act just like the dive computer with the 2 buttons to scroll through the screens just like you are in the dive. OK, so not all the data is there, not going to get compass data, but for stuff like that just put in a few gray dashes. Now you can review the dive in the same format as you dove it. And could you put the data in a fixed window and not chase the mouse on the graph. That alone would be a good start.

Probably not for the mobile version, but the desktop.

Hello Macan,

1. The time frame for End Surface GF in the app is currently based on the very last sample of the dive, however, we will be looking at that more as a number of people have suggested that there is a discrepancy with what is displayed on the device and what is displayed in the app.

2. Thanks for your suggestion. We will get our devs to look at the iOS graph.

Happy new year!

Hello CWK,

I have added your request to our backlog and we will certainly look at the End of dive Surface GF and getting it to match with what the device displays. Happy new year!

Hello broncobowsher,

Thanks for the suggestion! While I cannot promise anything, we will certainly look into refining the display. I have added your suggestion to our backlog.

Happy New Year, and happy diving everyone!

@Shearwater. Thank you for looking into the discrepancy between the End Surfacing GF (on the Info Panel of SWC) and the SurfGF that’s actually displayed on the computers.

Here are some additional info on this issue based on my dives yesterday and over the past several days.

1. It appears that the SWCloud is capturing GF99 instead of SurfGF the moment the diver surfaces i.e. depth = 0.

2. Immediately upon surfacing (depth = 0), I noted that the Teric/Petrel displays GF99 as a lower value compared to SurfGF (higher value and closer the GFHi Plan). Both data are not equal. They should be.

3. There is a LAG before GF99 (lower value) catches up with SurfGF (higher value) on the dive computer. It takes several seconds to a minute or so before GF99 is equal to SurfGF as seen on the Teric. I wasn’t able to track the actual time before both data are equal since I was busy removing gear and getting back on the boat in high seas.

4. By the time everyone is back on the boat and settled (several minutes have passed), i noted that both GF99 and SurfGF are now the same, as they should be and as they should have been immediately upon surfacing.

My very rough unscientific conclusion of the discrepancy is there is a time lag before GF99 catches up with the actual surfacing GF (SurfGF). It seems that the SW Cloud is capturing GF99’s reported value when depth =0 and displaying it as End Surfacing GF on the app. This is an incorrect value.

Hope this helps.

For people like me with hundreds of dives in multiple countries this change would actually be a bad thing. We have already recorded our countries in the available fields and this would create an incompatability for recorded dives.
