A decade is period of 10 years, it’s not defined as starting on any certain year. Every year will be the start of a new decade.

Ways the next version of the Teric could be even better....
  • Thinner
  • Multiple size choices
  • Multiple color / finish choices
  • Upgraded memory, cpu, screen resolution / contrast
  • Smaller / more reliable air integration
  • Longer battery life
  • Ability to tell you which way is out of a cave if you get lost... cave GPS!
  • Ability to send an SOS to topside search and rescue resources who would then immediately come look for you way back in a cave while you were lost before your air ran out
  • Powerful laser to tunnel through rock if necessary
  • Micro-rebreather
  • Send / receive text messages
It's already awesome just brainstorming about what the next wrist computer from Shearwater could even be.

I can't image how the screen could have higher resolution or contrast!
How is the air integration not reliable? What problems have you experienced or heard about? Are you thinking of Suuntos?
It has a compass, which works underwater...GPS does not.
Your three penultimate bullets I won't even comment on; you may as well add that the Teric should force World Peace and the End to Famine.
The last bullet is why? To whom? Where?

Maybe an integral bottle opener? :rofl3:

That band just screams to me to have with my Kraken.....

But alas, I continue to use my Petrel1 and PedrixAI....

Now, that band on my D6 "Squirrel"....

Who wants the gold Teric, and not the band???? PM me....

Still cool!

I have had no problems with the Teric. It is amazing. I am just saying here are ways that a future wrist computer from Shearwater might be better than the Teric that would matter to me and cause me to upgrade.

Regarding air integration... it could be more reliable. It could work from 100 ft away and never lose connection. If the Teric loses connection 1 out of every 10000 dives, the future one could be 1 in 1000000 dives. The AI could analyze the gas mix of your tank. Everything can be improved even if it really doesn't need to be.

Regarding sending text messages... Communication with topside is valuable, isn't it? Wilderness backpacking trackers have the ability such as the Garmin InReach Explorer. I use it to allow my relatives to track my location in real time over the internet. Some have used it to summon emergency services or search and rescue to avoid death. Most of those who have died in caves in the past 30 years got lost. The ability to navigate over a map or have one's location be pinpointed would make cave diving way safer! If we could somehow send a text message along with our latitude and longitude every few minutes, it would be like leaving a virtual breadcrumb trail or guideline that we would not need light or visibility to be able to follow out of the cave!!!

In 10 years, Shearwater will have something new. In 50 years, people will dive very differently and more safely. I enjoy brainstorming and speculating about the future.
