Reliable dive shop near Grand Baie, Mauritius?

I have booked a week in Feb 2019 at the Mauricia Beachcomber Hotel in Grand Baie. I emailed the onsite shop Diving World a few days ago and never got a reply (strike). It seems they don't have any reviews on tripadvisors and only 3 google reviews.

Any other shops within walking distance (or offering free pick up) would folks recommend?

Just an update - I entered up going with the dive shop at Mauricia after all - and it turned out to be a great experience and the crew and the owner Christelle were absolutely wonderful.

The diving around Grand Baie itself is ok - good macro diving, clear light blue water, but the reef itself is mostly bleached out.

You write the diving was “ok”? Corals bleached. What did you see? Did you go diving outside Grand Baie? Any tips?

Lot of small fishes and descent macro. The Philippines will definitely be better.

No, no sharks for me. just patches of reef near Grande Baie and 1 wreck. I suggest rent a car for at least a day to drive around. The gorges in the south, the botanic garden, the 7 colored earth, etc...can be covered in a day or two.

Avoid the famous public beaches - absolutely a zoo!

I’m planning to go in the area, the consensus right now seems to be that Reunion Island is > than Mauritius for both land and water activities (better diving)

I’d recommend Philippines over Mauritius for diving
