So? Of all the arguments I've read, this seems to be so specious. I take it that they are within the law. I also bet he has a lot of Belizeans on staff.

In a year, one of us is going to be able to say i told you so.

I've never been into that.

For seven or eight years, we had an annual "Invade the Keys". It was fun as hell, but there were issues. Issues with the size of the Island, issues with the Dive ops and even issues with a few participants who felt they "owned" the event. The Dive ops were the biggest hurdle and the price was quite high for just a weekend of diving. @cardz convinced me that we could go international, and many times told me that if I organized it, he would help. Meh. I know my limits, and running trips is way beyond them. Finally, @cardzard relented and agreed to run it with my help. I haven't looked back.

So, it's not so much a matter of WHERE I am going to, but that I'm going WITH @cardzard and @ROXANNE. I don't even need to know where we're going when he organizes the trip. I do know it's going to be fun, fun, fun for everyone. They can't control the weather, but they really are successful in making the dive ops and resorts keep their promises. Not only are they are batting 100, but every hit is a home run!

its been there for a couple years, pool is elevated to prevent ocean flooding in bad weather(huricane season), from what i can remember from the soft opening it was pretty nice, I guess the exclusive clientele model didn't work. I dont think it will be open too long, seems like a model like that doesnt work, although diving was nice id take the hostels in san pedro anyday over isolation. Hopefully he stocks up on gear and equipment and staff for the surge.

Not only are they are batting 1.00, but every hit is a home run!

Just a note at how great these SB trips are. I knew the chances being able to dive at the scubaboard Little Cayman surge were poor, and my husbands even worse because of a cold I caught 10 days prior to the trip. We saw our MD,s just prior just in case if I needed to pull the trigger on our trip insurance we would have the necessary back up. It was truly a toss up. What decided us to take the chance was all the people we have met on prior trips. I knew that even if we couldn't dive as much as we wanted we would have old friends, and new people to meet to entertain us. (Surgers are very entertaining ).

Dennis and Roxanne always have our back and make sure that any problems are resolved quickly. I happened once to walk in while Dennis was discussing issues with staff...and slowly backed away. He was professional and very firm and clear, I have no doubt that the issue was resolved to his/our satisfaction. I still dont know what the problem was, that's part of being professional.

The Little Cayman Beach Resort had a sign stating that there were no refunds for diving canceled due to weather, and we sure had some wind that kept us off the water. But everyone got vouchers for their missed dives to be used within 24 months. A few very lucky people just extended their stay to take advantage of this offer and Bay Adventures help coordinate all the travel issues. The resort in an effort to keep us all happy (drunk maybe) gave us free drink tickets a couple of days in. That was a nice move.

I don't believe that any of these things would have happened (well maybe the drinks) if we had been regular paying customers vs part of the scubaboard family. We are willing to take a chance with this new resort, even if it's not fully ready...they will be sure to put their best foot forward. But as always, there will be trip insurance involved.

Particularly when there are no other amenities..what the heck are you going to do from 12pm onwards...

my complaint as exactly, I guess its meant for newly weds or the amourous type. being remote has its advantages but not when you blow a fin strap,inflator hose etc. Rooms are super luxurious though and the staff worked super hard to fix whatever i broke but it meant a couple hour boat ride.(I cant remember what it was but I didnt have one and neither did they)

I have a high degree of confidence that within the Scubaboard attendees, any problems arising will easily be solved, even if the resort isn't the one to solve it.

No reason to be so thin skinned. Everyone here is rooting for you folks to have a great time.

It's just a little dicey, that's all.

At least the resort will finally be able to post some pictures of lots of guests milling about, using the pool, wandering the beach, eating at the restaurant that still hasn't opened, etc. Right now, the photos make it look like a ghost town. I remember looking at the website and wondering, "Where the heck is everybody?"

What Pete and Lizzi say! As long as Dennis and Roxanne are running the show, we have every confidence that everything will be looked after and we will all have a blast! We can hardly wait for Surge Belize 2021!
