I just don't log dives
Any help to ID tank would be appreciated. Came across a pair of these for $60 for both. Took a chance and worst case I can use the valves. Any idea of tank volume or fill pressure? Measurement from neck to bottom of tank is about 24”.

Fill pressure is 2250. Steel 72's built in 1969?

Great tank! I have three. Last forever if they pass inspection and hydro. Yes - US Divers, and probably 72's at that height, though maybe less if you included the full neck length and it's only 24".

That pretty much goes for all cylinders ... :)
except 6351 aluminums - those can pass hydro, VE, and VIP and be worthless because nobody wants to fill them. (I include myself in that category).

Depends on where you are.
I haven't been to Cali recently but...

No FL shop will fill them.
No WA or OR shops will fill them.
You can't get them filled in BC (Canada)
Sure there might be A shop someplace that is willing to fill these, but you are basically tied to that fill station.

Its close to $70 for hydro, VE, VIP, and an air fill here on a 6351 tank. They are all well over 30 years old at this point and the cost of maintaining them is disproportionate to their value. Scrap value is about $18 at least.

At least one in RI won't fill those AL 6351's. The one I know that would is closed now.
I have one of those USD 72 from 1960 still use it with a pillar type J valve.

Scrap steel is worth pennies not $18

The poster was talking about AL 6351, where do you get steel from?
