Isn't this thing cute? I couldn't help myself and took a chance on it. :D

Supposed to be brass.

It is brass. When you grind off the bolt snap attachment point, you'll see that.:D

I have a similar one from Highland, never had any problems with it.

Had one of these for a while. It was fine. Some won’t like the metal to metal connection, but if you’re just diving OW, should be fine.

Quick question though, I got a HP hose for it, but the connection for this to screw in looked like a flare type fitting. The gauge came with a spool. How would that work.
Maybe I saw it incorrectly.

The spool goes between the gauge and the HP hose fitting. What is a "flare type fitting?"

It was a type of fitting that was used to seal without the use of orings. Compression fitting I think is another term for it.
When I go back home I'll have a look again.

OK. That's not it. I can't post pictures (?) so HP hose+spool/w o-rings+gauge.

Compression and flare fittings are two completely different things. Flare fittings are used primarily in propane and natural gas applications such as barbeque grills and gas dryers.
