There are some shore dive options too.

Beaches are closed from Boca to Miami. West coast beaches are open, if you want to dive in 5' deep water to look at sand.

Most of the dive charters in West Palm Beach to Jupiter are running at 1/2 capacity to maintain social distancing.

Thanks for pointing this out! I thought that they were just cracking down on the Spring Break crowds with more than 10 people. I did not think they would go this far. My vantage point from Virginia is not so good.

They operate at half capacity most of the time.

Word is that the Governor will be shutting down all beaches and non-essential business in Broward and Palm Beach counties today. We'll know soon. I expect this will force the closure of all dive shops and charter operators as they do not meet the definition of an essential business. I believe the Keys (Monroe County) may be taking similar steps soon.

My guess (just a guess) is that by this weekend all diving with be all but impossible in all of Southeast Florida for at least 30 days if not longer. Hoping of course that my guess does not prove to be true.

Beaches are closed or closing soon in Collier, Lee and Charlotte county. I don't know what the status is of beaches further north.

From where I'm sitting it looks like it's going to get worse before it gets better and no one knows just how long till things normalize.
