I'm surprised, I had a good experience with Nautilus relatively recently. I was somewhat surprised that they appeared to be running a full schedule Is Coronavirus keeping you from booking liveaboard/overseas trips this year? It may be that non essential travel to Mexico is curtailed, changing this equation.

From the horse's mouth. Trust me. We had a large group going. As of Sunday, their offer was 40% of fee as a voucher toward future travel. If you have symptoms, 100% voucher toward future travel. We've been battling them all week to no avail.

I was not questioning your post, just surprised. If travel becomes unavailable, perhaps the policy will change.

Best of luck

Cancelled my June trip to Honduras with Scubaboard through Bay Adventures. Forfeited $400 deposit, and luckily I hadn't bought plane tickets yet.

Stage 4 yesterday as per US Gov; No change in stance from them. Mournful sounds of $ going down drain in background.

Does the stage 4 gi e you more insurance claim bandwith? what date was your trip on the Nautilus?...also, surely it can't be 'that' hard to get a 'symptoms of COVID-19' doctor's note? all you have to do is cough...

that being said...if you can actually get there for the date and your insurance is still valid....

Still trying to get some clarity on our fully paid expensive LOB in Raja in about 3.5 weeks. We obviously cannot go. No flights, no option to obtain a visa, be allowed in Sorong and a level 4 travel warning. No official communication from the boat yet. Travel agent thinks it will be cancelled, but says the boat will not give refunds as "circumstances are beyond their control". Pushes us towards travel insurance. If rescheduling is an option has not been confirmed - we may not be able to make it later anyway and who knows if the LOB will be around?

So probably looking at an insurance claim with at least a 20% haircut - if any claim will even be successful...haven't had the greatest of experiences with insurance companies, though we of course insured way before COVID became a thing...

Also for me, this situation means I will probably do a lot less LOBs in the future and only go with providers not requiring advance full payment.

Still holding out for new developments, so will hold the naming and shaming for now.

I'll say this though - neither the LOB nor travel agent have pro-actively communicated with us as their customers. Shame on them! If you run such a business, reach out to your customers if you want to see them again once this dies down.
