I’d get a copy at that price but so far on amazon.ca they are both over 100$

Amazon.com in the US has the Technical Diving book for $37 and Deco for Divers for $25. Make sure you get the second edition for Deco for Divers. In the lower right corner of the cover, there is a red “second edition” note.

I'm a recreational diver for now and during this Covid situation I am looking to learn more about diving. All courses are postponed for now. Any recommendations for good reading materials that would allow me to understand more about deco diving and how a diver goes about planing and executing a deco dive. I could probably buy course manuals but I'm not sure I want to sign up for a tech class right now.
You may find books a bit lacking in practical application. In general I have found that the manuals and books talk about the theory behind the planning but leave the details to the instructor. It is as if the materials are deliberately not taking a position.

Mark’s Intro to Technical Diving should be the first one to read. Kevin Gurr has a book and there is John Lippmann’s Deeper Into Diving. They are older and show it, but the principles are the same.

Don’t get caught up with obsessing on how to arrive at the stop times, concentrate on being able to do the stops and have enough gas.
