Yep. I have both Subsurface and Shearwater (app + desktop application).

That’s all you need.

I don’t mind their policy in this regard at all.

I was one one boat in Tobermory with exactly the kind of diver that leads to “proof of experience” policies like that. He showed his AOW card and insisted he had all his own gear. Turned out he had never dove cold water, and his gear included full foot fins. The dive was the Niagara II, with temps around 40F. Full foot fins . They don’t want divers like that on the cold deep dives.

@Divingblueberry

The harbor tugs are a great first dive in Toby. This is where Divers Den does their OW class dives. Shore dives. There is a nice spot with benches and such for divers to gear up and then steps down into the water. No more than 40ft deep, and 3-4 old wooden tug wrecks. Nice, easy diving. Amazingly clear water.

Just my way of an update on Tob... Indeed, boats are going in on May 25th. The Park is slated to open on June 1. I know Kelly has been talking to the Park Boss to try to make sure that Fathom Five is fully open. I think there's a pretty obvious difference between diving and camping. Currently, the Tugs platform is still closed. I saw a couple of dudes diving there Sunday. They were parked directly in front of the "Closed" sign. The bylaw guy was about to write them a ticket when I passed again and they were in the water.

Assuming the water bits opened up on the first, I would think DD will be open as well. I know they're anxious to get going. One minor correction regarding their offerings.... DD does not offer trimix fills. They bank air and 32, and will blend any nitrox.

What is a little less clear is the status of accommodation etc. Ontario still has whatis essentially a non-essential travel ban. I think that this will ease in bits, but I do not recommend driving to Tobermory any time soon and expect to find anything open. As of two days ago, pretty much everything was closed tight, but lots of preparation underway. I rent my place on AirBnB and all short-term rentals are currently banned.

Regarding accommodation under normal circumstances, I'm going to disagree with the "year ahead" premise. Certainly long weekends, and many weekends fill early. If you can, come mid week. And always make a reservation.

I am diving this weekend, but outside of the park, possibly hooking up a mooring or two. I'll update this thread later in the weekend if there's anything new.

I was going to say you cant get tri mix up toby way and or courses of tech nature by the instructors employed there ,(going there with an instructor is a different matter ) I have brought up my own HE and blended out of my kit I brought with me but its a big hassle ...most people just bring extra tanks ....... but I didn't want to get in a big pissing game ,

There isn't really anything in Tobermory that you need mix for (unless you're a GUE person or intending to bottom out on a wall someplace). There may or may not be the odd private stash of He in town so only a top up is required, but I wouldn't know about that.

I was talking to Kelly on Saturday about this and suggested that once the Manasoo opens up, they could stick one of their inflatables down there and pump He... She wasn't convinced it was a good idea! ;-)

And agreed about the training. DD is geared toward entry level stuff and recreational courses.

Thank very much @Stoo for the information. I'm sure I'm not the only one who will find it very useful.
