we should probably set up some form of 'credit exchange' forum.

100% payment ( no crappy offers or requests for discounts) to take over someone's credit if they can't make the dates etc.
Good idea! Hopefully some of the credits are transferable. I know with my Aggressor voucher it is not transferable.

I am encountering a problem with Delta. Had a flight booked to GC with miles +fees. Delta canceled flight and it was almost a month before we received notice of credit and to use credit we would have to contact Delta (No word about fees paid).

Ok, so sometimes I can be patient but this week I decided to be optimistic and book a flight to Bonaire late October. Tried to call to book. No surprise long hold time so selected option call back. Recording said 9 hours! Well no surprise 9 hours later no call. Tried again this morning. Same dang response. Sent complaint email.

So how do you book when they don’t even respond to calls for reservations!

Nope. Not if I want to use the credit we are owed. Phone call only per their email. When I check my Skymiles account the credit doesn’t even show up, neither as ecredit or skymiles.

I believe you have to call in and speak to someone at Delta when re-booking using miles that have been refunded, you cannot use the "credit" to book direct online as normal.

Could be an extra layer of fraud protection (?) or Delta making it difficult to redeem miles. Since Delta revamped their credit card rewards, seating, reservations and website late last year, I have been pretty frustrated with them. Before COVID, I was booking flights for June 2020, October 2020 and December 2020, attempting to use miles. When using the "book with miles" selector on their website, it showed drastically different flights and seats available then paying with cash. It used to be fairly even keel between both options.

We noticed the same.

To make this odder still they did initially refund the miles to Eric‘s account but not mine then promptly removed the returned miles.

I also cancelled the above mentioned trip for this month (To Bahamas.. trip cancelled by Aquacat :()

I did end up paying via Delta AmEx for the trip (booked in December), as the miles deals were not attractive to me.

When I called for the cancellation, they tried everything they could to issue me an "eCredit" vs a card refund. The guy even made it seem like the money was coming out of his own pocket. Delta had changed the itinerary, so I was entitled to a card refund.

Ok. Got an update. It was only a little over 5 hours and the agent was very pleasant. Got tickets for Bonaire end of October! Now I have to get my passport that the government has had for an update on name since February 25th. :(
