My doc wouldn't do an annual appt via telemedicine.

Neither will mine. BUT if I show up twice a year in person, he will do med updates and routine stuff over the web as needed.

Pretty much my visits to my doctor, I need a script to get prosthetic, which requires a visit to a doctor. What do they think I am a gecko and my leg will grow back?

My signed medical form expires July 2nd. I only have to get my doctor to sign due to allergies (hay fever, mold, pollen) and taking meds daily for them. My doctor had not been making any annual wellness appts for many weeks due to the stupid plague. My instructor checked with TDI to see if there were any exceptions to the medical form if your doctor wouldn't see you. Nope, no way around it. Good thing my doctor just started taking patients for annual wellness appts this week. My appt is in three weeks (earliest appt I could get), so any class dives would have to wait until after my appt.

If I remember correctly the form only covers prescription meds and severe allergies. Almost all the common allergy medications are available OTC now and “severe“ is a very subjective requirement. Is it possible you might not need to check yes and need a medical sign off?

The stuff I take is OTC. But I’ve been getting the form signed for allergies since I started diving. Would look a bit odd if I suddenly didn’t.

That’s a good question and I was hoping an instructor might answer.

Logically things change year to year, that’s why they update them yearly. And just as new concerns arise it seems reasonable that old issues might resolve. One could be on a prescription medication one year and off the next. Maybe borderline hypertension, you lose weight, now blood pressure’s normal as just one example. I could see no reason why an instructor would not accept a completed and signed form with no issues marked if the prior issue was no longer valid. To me it would be worth a try and just tell the truth, it was just allergies and its now well controlled with OTC medications.

Instructor knows I still have allergy issues. Pollen, etc., have been really bad here this year and it’s been a subject of discussion when I’ve been in the shop.
