I have a Heinrichs Weikamp OSTC computer with wireless charging. I only ever need to charge it before the start of a trip and it will last easily a week of four or five dives a day. I would assume the Peregrine charge will last that long too. No need to charge except maybe once on whole trip.

That's nice for you, but you missed the point

I've got a rechargeable Eon, and a Perdix which can use rechargeable batteries (charged outside computer) MY preference is none wirless charging because of the points I raised above. Others my differ, which is fine.

The point is, there's no one method that suits 100% of the users

I prefer the replacable batteries, or an more popular standard.
I'd hate to miss on a dive because I broke my super proprietary charging cable.

No simple options in this thread. It would double the cost to the user. Perdix AI plus the transmitter vs a Peregrine.

I quite like AI for the logging. I had a Suunto with AI (AI came as a bundle, so a full trimix computer with AI was the price of a Peregrine alone) and I currently have a Perdix AI, but I am not at all inclined to spend £300 on a transmitter. Where I am today that would pay for 15 days of diving.
It's certainly a cost/benefit analysis that each indiviadual needs to make. I'm not suggesting that it's mandatory - just a nice feature if one can afford it.

The charging method used by the peregrine is the same as basically every cell phone on the market.

I use the same charger for my Teric as I use for my cellphone on trips. And I keep a spare one because they are so small.

Yeah, that's a good one. I was thinking more about Suunto or other rechargable DC's.

My preference is AA battery. My OSTC is perfect with that. 100hrs battery life and easily replacable.

I think the disdain for the wireless charging certainly has to do more with the average age of scubaboard users than it does with the overall clientele.

 Kids these days...

I'm very happy with wireless chargers on my sonicare toothbrush, and on my waterpick flosser. Not on my flashlight batteries, nor on my vaporizer.

I do think it's easier to put my DC on the charger than changing the battery, but YMMV.

Yeah, mine actually does everything I need and nothing I don't for 2+ years off a CR2430... I'm old, can you tell?

@Shearwater why does the NDL display not switch to TTS when entering deco mode in 3 gas nitrox? NDL 0 is less useful than TTS in that situation
I was looking for a similar answer. You can't reassign NDL in any Rec Mode, and 3‐gas Nitrox is just OC Rec renamed.
Only in OC Tec can you pick what appears once NDL hits zero. For me, that's SurGF, since TTS is already in another field.

At least, I think those are the rules.

You could just remember your gas at the end of the dive until you upload it to your phone. On any given day the start pressure is often similar and easy to remember.

Mine is generally close enough (start is anywhere from 3,200 to 3,500 psi) that it doesn’t matter for the kind of diving that I do, but I do like to note the exact beginning and end pressure for each dive.

If I’m going to be doing 2+ dives before I get back to my setup station I bring my dive slate. Prior to gearing up... I write:

Dive 1

Start PSI:
End PSI:

Dive 2

Start PSI:
End PSI:

I just make the note on the pressure prior to starting the second dive. If I had AI instead, that would eliminate the need for the dive slate, but it would have also cost me an additional $700+ (I just ordered a Peregrine).

For the foreseeable future, I’ll continue to note my gas usage in that manner until I have a chance to log it.
