I thought we were getting along fine. Maybe your perception of off through text. Maybe mine is off.
Shrugs? I actually dive with several SB members off and on over the years. Text outrage is an odd thing.

I have one of each, FMCL, BMCL, CHOptima

This may sound like a dumb question but does that mean you’re allowed to be on a regular optima while your student is on the choptima. I though most agencies required the instructor and student to be on the same unit. I’m assuming the optima an choptima would be considered “the same unit” when it comes to standards

Revo divers just pretend they are not there meld into the structure of the boat and leave their checklists clipped to bunjee cords and drive far away

It’s not clear in the standards, but I have access to two of everything.

Interesting read, though nobody in the States seems to care for JJ CCR?
It's renowned for being reliable and simple. It is after all the CCR that has the current depth record as far as I know. Will Goodman wouldn't use something he wasn't absolutely sure of for this.
rEvo, AP, Optima, Meg seem to be mentioned a lot, but not much on the JJ, SF2, Liberty etc. How come?

I attended a presentation from Craig Challen, 2 weeks ago, he briefly mentioned a 245m dive he did at Pearse Resurgence in New Zealand, five months ago with his dive partner Richard Harris. In the presentation, he speculated that NZ may result in the world's deepest dive eventually. He was on twin Meg's. Video below.

p.s. he was kind enough not to take the piss out of my rEvo :) during q & a afterwards.

From TDI
7. If an instructor is teaching a SCR/CCR course, the instructor may use SCR/CCR or open circuit equipment provided all skills are demonstrated on the unit specific SCR/CCR.
