As far as I know, you don't have to open up an account. If you click on the link at the bottom of my reply, you should be taken to the Vimeo page and be able to just access the documentary. If its not working like that, let me know. It should be. Thanks.

Yeah they charge for it, don't have a problem with the 4 bucks just the process

I'm sorry you're having difficulty viewing the documentary. I have not heard from anyone else about a problem. Can you describe it for me and I'll see if I can help.

Despite what some may believe, I'm not one to refuse to admit when I've misspoken. Earlier in this thread I raised questions about whether Stewart had any certification on the Draeger Rebreather stating "the fact that he used an SCR without any apparent training." That was the best information I had at the time.

I was challenged on that statement by someone who said they had information that Stewart did have TDI certification on that equipment. I asked TDI about the certification and so far have heard nothing back. A search of their site for any certification showed nothing.

But, today new information was filed in court that states that Stewart had numerous technical certifications through TDI, "Robert Stewart, was a Technical Diving International (TDI) Rebreather Instructor for more than seventeen(17) years and a qualified open water dive instructor for more than twenty (20) years prior to his death." I'm told further court filings will state he had numerous TDI instructor certifications, including advanced nitrox, decompression procedures and trimix diving. My hats off to abnfrog for pointing this out (though I would have appreciated a little less of the questionable language Steve.) I will keep this thread posted as I learn more.

Once again, if anyone has information that I do not have, I am always grateful to get it and not afraid to correct statements I've previously made.

somebody needs to do math. Rob was 37 when he died, you CAN"T be a dive instructor until 18. He could NOT have been a Open Water instructor for over 20 years.. Just saying.

There are lots of his bios that state he became a dive instructor at 18. Anyhow, not teaching over 20 years

I'm just quoting the documents filed in court. I didn't write them. Of course they've yet to be challenged in court and admitted as fact. Another document filed this morning sheds a little more light. "At the time of his death, ROBERT STEWART held several Instructor level scuba diving certifications, all of which were issued in the year 2000 or earlier. The certifications included, but were not limited to:
(a) Draeger Dolphin Rebreather Instructor;
(b) Trimix Instructor;
(c) Advanced Trimix Instructor;
(d) Extended Range Instructor;
(e) Advanced Gas Blending Instructor;
(f) Advanced Nitrox Instructor;
(g) Advanced Wreck Instructor;
(h) Decompression Procedures Instructor; and
(i) Equipment Specialist Instructor."

It also seems to be quite ambitious that he would have obtained all those certifications at such a young age. But he was a very driven person who worked at his interests relentlessly. So who knows...

But he was a very driven person
Or, he took lots of shortcuts with instructors who were open to that.

I’ll bet somewhere there is some TDI IT is scrambling to put paper together to document a bunch of training....
