Back to report. The reefs are in better condition than I have ever seen them. Brothers was pristine. Little brother particularly was abundant with life. A couple of silkies, but wasn’t expecting longimanus or hammerheads with this water temp. We night dive around hurghadha last night and. It was the best Red Sea nightdive I have ever done. Abundant life 9 x different nudis, 5 x octopus, tiny cuttlefish, 6 Spanish dancers ( seriously...6! ) Cowries etc.

Dove the Gianni’s d yesterday and as we were getting in the zodiac 2 whale sharks turned up, so we had 20 mins back in the water with fins and snorkels and circling whalesharks. The DMs said first time in 15 years they had seen whale sharks.

3 dives on the thistlegorm today only boat. It was a bit murky, but worth it for the only boat. 6 divers in total. Amazing. Agressor 2 just showed up as we were finishing. So we are off to another site now...

Thanks for the report, looking forward to my trip even more now.

What do you mean "wasn’t expecting longimanus or hammerheads with this water temp"? I thought Longimanus were around Brothers all year, and more common in the summer? Was the water temperature unusual for September?

:yeahbaby:
That's absolutely amazing!!!!

May/June and October/November best for longimanus and there is basically zero activity on the islands so I wasn’t really expecting them. We saw one far off, but not the usual ‘under boat flyby’

temp got over 30..nice and soupy.

I guess they may have had issues with people not having and trying to board. One thing about hurgh etc and test on arrival is that they administer the test and then ask what hotel you are staying in and say they will contact you At your hotel if it comes back positive....so basically comedically useless...

OMG. Just OMG. That's so cool.

We actually went back to dive the Carnatic today and had a pod of 15 dolphins with us for safety stop and about 20 mins on the surface. They had 2 babies with them as well....really playful. Loving their reflections in my wide angle dome :)
I’m off down south for a week around fury shoals tomorrow... looking forward to seeing what’s there!
