I've cut down on my tank inventory. At one point I had several aluminum 80s and 100s, 14 steel 72s, and three sets of doubles with two aluminum 40 deco bottles.

My buddy and I share a set of tanks. Between the two of us we have:

2X LP 85 doubles
1X HP 100 doubles
4X AL 40

I'm on the lookout for several more
WOW. That's an interesting approach to the "problem" of owing too many tanks: Share it with a buddy.

2 x AL30 50% stages
2 x AL40 100% stages
2 x AL50 (air + 50%)
2 x AL63 (air + Nitrox)
4 x AL80 Nitrox
1 x AL50 twinset (Nitrox)

2 x 10L Steel Twinsets (Trimix)

Residing in my dive room are three more tanks belonging to friends
2 x AL80 (Air)
1 x 15L steel (Trimix)

Currently? (Mainly CCR diving)

2 1L/6cuft (suit inflation)
4 2L/13-15cuft (CCR O2)
2 AL30 (CCR trimix DIL)
2 AL40 (OC O2)
4 AL80 (OC Deco/stages)
4 12L/LP85/HP100 (DILOUT/OC doubles)
2 16L/HP130 (Banked gases)

I’ve sold many tanks over the years... either for downsizing or swapping out odd sizes... always end up around the same number of tanks ~20)

I’ll buy used tanks cheap, service them, and if they fit my current needs, keep them, else sell them off at a slight profit.

Yes, I'm really fortunate, we've each bought some tanks (and other gear) and collectively have a nice pool to choose from for our dives. My real fortune, however, is in the new "Scuba Shack." My buddy recently built a new house and she built us a dedicated room/workshop for our gear! :D

Currently 2 x HP100 (recently acquired).

I will be on the lookout for another used matched pair of HP100’s sometime next year. Four HP100’s plus a pair of AL40’s would cover me for most of the diving that I would want to do.

7 @ al80
1 @ al80, current eddy hydro but bad alloy, looking to retire it.
1 @ al40
1 @ al6
1 @ lp72 @couv we need to work on a trade. It doesn't really fit any of my other weighting schemes. Would be great for you to get to use it. Hydro'ed earlier this year.
