Move then and stop bitching.

Thanks for that keen advice, from once-lovely Santa Barbara, whose parks are now open toilets, thanks to the tapeworms of the Ninth Circuit; and that move is already being done incrementally, since escape from CA and the questing, feeding tentacles of the California Franchise Tax Board, is a bit of a challenge, if one hasn't truly looked into it; and none too straightforward, for a business owner, with some remaining though tenuous ties to California -- a bit like eliminating an existing stand of bamboo without completely excising the rhizomes; that, and my veteran tax attorney said that he'd rather face, and I quote, "a barbed wire high colonic" audit from the IRS, than deal with a second one from the FTB, since they can audit a person indefinitely; whereas, the feds can only do so for a period of three to six years.

Additionally, it's far better to plan and liquidate any potential CA real estate; cash out investments, once you're officially no longer a resident; but, under some circumstances, that may take over eighteen months, to completely verify -- to avoid a potential CA thirteen-plus percent capital gains nick to the femoral artery; never mind the fed's fifteen to twenty percent take.

That's a scheiß-load of diving and conch!

A non-resident tax return—just reporting California-source income, from property, as a "non-resident"— was already filed in April.

Don't fret -- I'll leave you to the legions of junkies and skells, in Pershing Park, soon enough . . .

That is so nice of you. Bye bye.

I've often wondered why California is still part of the US. I long ago lost track of the number of times I've heard Californians cry "seceed." I'm pretty sure the rest of America would not mind at all, either. As far as I can tell, nearly everyone would be happy. We could add Puerto Rico as a state in order to keep the flag the same. There, more happy people. Major ports would move to Oregon and/or Washington. Even more happy people.

I could never be a politician, making people happy and whatnot.

You guys are killing me! I didn’t know Yoda had a mother in-law! Be prepared for more CA migrants in the low tax states though.....CA pension deficits are already enormous and will continue to grow. Hence bigger tax bills here on the horizon........The Mrs. and I talk about invading FLA or Nevada every week.......you folks should make CA transplants sign a pledge not to bring all the BS with them. San Francisco now has a poop app so you can evade fecal piles on the sidewalk, and classes on how to properly inject your favorite illegal narcotics properly..........can’t wait to escape....

Welcome back! I’m just a tad south of you ... Bonita Springs. Between Palm Beach & Broward Counties & Key Largo there is awesome diving within 2-3 hrs. You can also dive on the Gulf side as well as long as you’re not picky about conditions or sites.

San Francisco, where I have spent more than half of my life, spent 250K, last year, to put city workers on Scheiß Detail; and the building's super, has, what is, essentially, a fire hose to clean out the entryway, of human waste, each morning -- which is, sadly, quite necessary. There's also a five gallon bucket / sharps container and a mechanical prong, for spent syringes.

As one of the last straws, my business partner, who is fond of nighttime walkabouts when visiting town, was levied a 100.00 fine, in July, for remaining in a SF city park (Buena Vista?), smoking a butt, after posted hours; but the skells can remain and do camp there, gratis . . .

Well it looks like it is finally a reality. House in Illinois is sold and closes in 17 days hooray. Then it is on the road to Port Charlotte should be in the area by the 13th. So I would like some info on diving in the area where is good and who is good to go out with. Also I am hoping to get over and dive BHB ASAP I have wanted to do that for a long time. Can't wait to live in the land of year around diving.
Blue heron Bridge is nice, advise camping on peanut island wonderful diving around there as well(it's like 500 feet from bhb)
But i highly recommend bringing a torch with at least 1000lm
