MacDive is the best if you are a combined Mac and iOS user. It’s a bit annoying/unfortunate you have to buy both versions separately buts it’s by far and away my favorite. The developer is really responsive on his site too.

SubSurface is the runner up. It’s free and works on any platform under the sun. I really dislike it’s interface however.

Yes, really dislike the Subsurface UI, as well.

I’ve given Subsurface a look and wow, the interface is awful... :D

MacDive looks much nicer, may have to spend the $10.

Sadly its going to be more like $35, $9.99 for the iOS App and $25 for the MacOS desktop app. I personally think it's money well spent but it's a tough pill to swallow compared to the $0.00 cost of SubSurface.

If you don’t need desktop access, you can just do it off your phone. That’s primarily what I do.

True, the desktop is just a nicety. I had the desktop app well before the mobile app came out so just got used to the work flow on the desktop. Well that and typing is just easier. But yeah need the iOS version, desktop is optional.

I will get the iOS version, that should already work nicely on my phone and iPad if I feel the need for a larger screen.

Thanks! :)

Nick is really nice. I unfortunately had to switch from MacDive to Divelog because I couldn't get an old computer to sync with it. But Nick tried his best to get it to work, and then promptly refunded me when we couldn't get it to work.
