Dody I stay away from people who party and then want to go on dives. In fact I know many dive centers with breathalyzers who would give you a test. Many have zero policy and don't let divers who are still shitfaced go out on dives or continue with courses. If you have a low blood sugar level and get into difficulties in a current you can simply pass out and drown. You air consumption becomes irrelevant. People think oh it's only a shallow 15m dive it will be fine. Next time you know not to go on the dive at all and avoid being another plaque on the wall.
I was not drunk. I would have passed any breathanalyzer. I just was not in good shape. I need to wait for the next day to be good after I drink even though I am almost at 0. So I don’t drink 24 hours before a dive.

In EU we usually use steel. Only small girls use 12l tanks other have 15l or 18l. Some have even 2x10l.

So AL 80 is 10l tank, for 33m (108ft) wreck dive. Its stupid as you will only have a few minutes bottom time. You can do it, but what's the point.

Since when is a 33m dive only a few minutes bottom time especially when on Nitrox 32? You would get 19 minutes... want longer then go to Nitrox 26% Or do a deco dives

Did a fast calculation and with AL80 I have max 17 minutes bottom time. It doesn't matter what gas you are breathing as you will be out of it soon.

Uhh, what...?
12L 232b is one of the more common tanks to see around here, on people of all shapes and sizes.
Also an AL80 is 11,1L.

I remember one dive when my RMV was probably around 30 l/ min because of a drink party a few hours before and less than 4 hours sleep.

Even if a diver comes and is clearly even too tired I won't dive with them. PS the dive centers I go with you need a zero breath test for alcohol. So even you might claim you could legally drive you would not be allowed on the dive. You went to a drink party a few hours before and had less than 4 hours sleep says it all really. You won't be risking my life only your own so there is that :)

An experienced diver just says to themselves nup not a good idea to go diving and doesn't go. In my humble opinion.

Most people in germany dive 10l or 12l. Which is on average a 80cft :D

15l is rarely seen.
Ofc there are people diving doubles.

I followed the thread since it started.

I thinkrec diving to 30m on 80cft is fine in warm waters. I only dive 12l local and i limit myself to 25m in dark cold water.

An AL 80 is actually an 11 liter tank. I'm 185cm tall and weight 125kg or more. Small I am not.
A dive to 33m I end up doing at least a 75 minute dive time and still have 50 bar when I surface. This was only a 93 minute dive as not pushing NDL due to this being about the 14th dive in 5 days. Done on an AL 80 :)

I was probably to optimistic about EU as it has to many countries with different rules and how to do things. I'm talking about Adriatic Sea, 15l is the standard here.

I sac of 7.8l is not average, nor is it realistic in am emergency.
Of course it is possible to dive to 30m.
I think the question, discussed in this thread, is more: is it a good idea.

As i said before. On warm water i think it is ok. But it depends on a lot of faktors. Current, dive buddys, experience...
