Hi everybody,

My question is aimed directly at Bob himself and to any Force Fin user. To any Force Fin basher/hater : think what you like, dive what you like and please, just let me do the same.

Here's my situation : got a pair of XXL Force Fin Pro which I DO love :), only drawback, can't wear them when I dive dry. The foot pocket isn't large enough to accommodate my 9/10 feet + rock boots + drysuit with heavy socks under.

The obvious solution seems to be a pair of fins with an adjustable foot pocket, but which model ?

The SD1 or the adjustable Force Fin ?

You see, I don't like at all, even from far off and in pitch black darkness, like Seal or a Recon diver. Aren't the SD1 just too much for me ? As far as my diving CV is concerned : 30 years of diving (tropical, med, Atlantic, a bit of cave, mix gases...) and these days diving Mares Power Plana (true planks btw) when diving dry.

So, what's your opinion guys ? :D

What the heck is diving Dry ? Mares Sales Rep told me 30 years ago he liked the Adjustable Dive Blade. Long story on this, but a dive store in the mid-west loved the design from lake diving to warm water diving in the summer. Ken keep ordering so many pairs we still sell today. This design took off the leading edges of the orginial Force Fin, allowing better surface swimming. Plus I added the Winglet Technology to be attached Adjustable Force Fin - Force Fin

Ok, I'll try to clarify, and bear with me : English is my 2nd language  I think I should have meant : which Force Fin to dive with my dry suit on. :p

I use xxl Excellerators with my drysuit and they are great , I am size 10.5 shoe , my suit has large built in rubber boots , I am surprised you find the xxl too small ... your rock boots must be very large

I was worried about going DRY..going to have a drink in one hour...Titos. With the lockdown my jailer lets me go to the liquor store.SD-1 in action.

@Bob Evans - Ahhh, because it keeps tax revenues coming in and the citizenry relatively contented.

Watching closely as I have a similar sizing issue. Wide, size 9 feet here.

Wet, I've switched to sneaker-sole style booties and 9W Altama Maritime Assaults, and neither fit in my "L" FF-Ps or "XL" FF-Hs. Width seems to be the biggest issue for me, not the height.

Dry, I use 10.5W Altama Maritime Assaults and I am playing around with a cheap "Jungle" style boot to minimize air intrusion.

The adjustables look like a neat solution, but they say a range of M-XL equivalent, so probably not going to help me.
Are the SD-1 series foot pockets larger than the Adjustables?
How do they perform compared to the molded pockets?

I should have a pair of beat-up XXL FF-Ps in a couple weeks that were too cheap to pass up, so I ordered them for sizing and if they fit, as a stop-gap until we see what unique, awesome things Bob might turn up.

I use the Adjustable Force Fin. I've been using them for the last 15+ years using different Drysuit attached boots (Apollo), Drysuit rockboots (DUI, Pinnacles, SEAC, Chucks, Altama), or if I'm using wetsuit booties. Very easy to adjust the fit to accommodate any boot or foot size. The added bonus are the wings attachments (I don't use it) and the ease of walking around the deck with my Force Fins on. I dive California, Mexico, Hawaii, Caribbean and Bahamas. I hope to use it up in the Canadian waters soon.

Just like -JD- (above), I just bought some Altama Maritime Mids. I can hardly wait to try them out with the Force Fins.

Not that kind of dry ! It'd be AWFUL ! :( What the fun of a nice Sunday family dinner without a nice bottle of wine ? Btw, I'll have a toast later on to all forum members, thank you for all the info. :)

Still, I'm a bit surprised no one gave any info on diving with the SD1.

What size Altamas? Please update on fit compatibility when you get them! Dive reports would be great when you get a chance.
