Does anyone know if you can upload mk1 data to the mk2i?
Do you mean actually include Mk1 dives in the dive long on the Mk2i itself?

Should be easy to find out. Connect the Mk2i to USB as Mass Storage and copy an Mk1 FIT file to the Activity folder. Make sure the filenames are in the right format.

I don't have an Mk2(i) but on the Mk1 the files are YYYY-MM-DD-hh-mm-ss.fit

If you move from a Mk1 to a Mk2 it will ask if you want to import your history. This includes dives.
Standard for Garmin when adding a new device to Connect.

Yes,I want to migrate everything from the mk1 to the mk2 when I get it.

I never messed with the .fit files for the mk1 but I will give it a go. Do you know how to force the .fit files to re-upload to connect?

Is it all through connect or from watch to watch?

Got my Pod in today....but still waiting on the mk2i.

Through connect.

There's no need to be trying to export dives.
I'm missing some dives in connect/dive log but have them on the watch. Not gonna name names...but some guy had too many drinks decided to play around with connect and lost some dives. I plan on resetting the mk1 before I give it to my kid, so I would like to have them back on the connect or mk2i dive log before I do that.

Copy those dives off your watch then import them into Connect.

Conceivably, you could just manually copy them to your new watch, but it would make more sense to get them into Connect and manage them there.

Before you reset it, copy everything from the Garmin folder on your Mk1 to a folder on your hard drive so you will always have the data in case you realise you are missing a dive (or any other activity). Although, you could probably just copy the Activity folder.
