I was just informed that a dive instructor on Roatan has been missing since 8.30am on Friday. Apparently he did a solo shore dive and has not returned. His name is Bill Perkins and he works at Island Diving Center / Brisas Del Mar

I am praying he washed up someplace and someone has him. He's an amazing person.

HIs body was found in very deep water. I saw the post on Facebook. So sad.
Yes, Stanley Submarines volunteered to help with the search and recovery.

My heart goes out to his family, friends and colleagues. Wish I could be there with them celebrating his life tonight.

Prayers to his loved ones, family, and friends in these difficult times.

I just learned today of Bill Perkins passing. I have dove with Bill many times and have had many conversations about his love of metal detecting here in the states and underwater in Roatan. I am deeply saddened to here he's gone.

It was quite a shock.

But the next time you are there, you will have to Dive the Bill Perkins Memorial Dive site. Purchased by an anonymous donor (I have my suspicions of who it was), the dive site is named Bill Perkins Peace. There is a bronze plaque (very fitting for Bill and his passion of finding treasure) at the dive site. It's near the sewing machine
