It’s not looking good.
Anyone with more experience with Port closures have any insight as to whether there will be diving the next few days?

MAYBE this evening and tomorrow morning, after that I see no issues.

Get that stuff out of the weather system before we arrive on the 19th!!!!!!!! Hoping it doesn't blow anyone's dives out in the meantime too. :)

From Cozumel My Cozumel : Cozumel Weather - Cozumel My Cozumel

November through February is norte season. Fingers crossed things "Norte" should be winding down now.

You might check wind guru Galveston for a preview of the winds in Cozumel, it normally leads by a day or two for spotting El Nortes, here is the current last day (10 day out limit)

The other great resource I found out about last November (when the port shut down for 8 days out of a two week trip due to hurricane Eta) is Windy.com. They have a very nice 10 day animated projection which shows if the weather mass is just a quick moving front or a weather mass with staying power. Center your view on the gulf and it shows a very good view of the plains thru to Honduras.

Eek! I don't like what I see in Galveston!!! Keep it up there please! Windguru looks good on the 17th ... hoping it holds for our week. I'll go look at windy - thanks. :)

I have a friends going down during that same time period and would have gone down myself if I hadn't broke my foot. My not going may help as I have been an El Norte magnet over the last 18 months. My staying in Texas may keep it in Texas

Norte? So what, dive the other side of the island with Aldora:)

Stay wet!

Taking one for the team, eh? Really hoping your foot heals quickly - and stay off ladders!

We had one hit us on a december trip - it was miserable. I will never travel there Dec-Feb again.
