I think the last photo posted by happy diver was kind of a goof on the whole DIR GUE perfect skydiver position, protocols, etc. that’s how I’m seeing it anyway.
since apparently hartattack seems to be a GUE instructor, I’m just guessing, Is that correct?

I think happy divers initial post was to try and show a way to secure what the OP had in a way to keep it from taco-ing.
There we go again with those damn tacos! There’s a place by my house that has killer tacos and they just re-opened so that’s all I can think about.
You guys have fun!

Send me some, can't get real Mexican food around here.

This conversation got away from me. Let's clear some things up— first and foremost—my name is Hartattack, apologies to @boat sju if my thoughts on your reading comprehension are misconstrued.

With that said, we can all look back on the thread to garner some clarity on what transpired.
The Original Poster (OP) wanted help finding a solution to his current Back Plate and Wing predicament that included a 40lbs Wing Single Tanke Adapter and the possibility of using said equipment on a single tank dive in warmer water.

This seemingly easy fix was met with some good advice until @happy-diver posted what looked like (to me) a back inflate Zeagle BCD with three zip-tied three or five-pound (couldn't tell from the photo) weights and a plastic buckle.

Knowing Happy's experience in the water—I thought for sure this was a trolling post, so I, in turn, replied, "All I can say is why? Just get a SS BP and be done with that over weighted nonsense." as a tongue in cheek slight.

This led to Happy talking about why this rig works for him and his self-created chest-mounted CCR. (entirely irrelevant for OPs problem and would NOT be a solution) Tolling post # 2.
So, of course, I dug in and said, "Cool story, bro. How it is relevant to OP's question—no idea. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯" (I enjoy internet banter)

Then @boat sju comes on the scene with his lack of reading comprehension and says, "I don't know but everyone should probably listen to hardattack. After all, he's a GUE instuctor and he's cool enough to use "bro" in a sentence." (sic.) Spelling my name wrong the first time (I see you, Ron Swanson, and I can assure you, I am not trying to get chummy with you)

James and I then had a pleasant conversation about our thought processes and why Happy might have said what he said. After talking with OP a bit—we found his solution, and then Happy posts an epic photo of himself saying something about the meaning of life and creativity et al. which would be troll post # 3, hence, why I called him a troll.

Of course, @boat sju must come to Happy's defense, not knowing he is now trolling all of us at this point, to which (sigh) he spells my name wrong again.

Nevertheless, I am NOT a GUE Instructor. I am a GUE Recreational Instructor Intern, which means nothing but I am training to become one which could take up to three years. However, I have been a scuba instructor with other agencies since 2014, a member of GUE since 2015, and on the BOD for the Midwest GUE Community. The slights towards me, "Instructor Boy," etc., while funny, have once again nothing to do with OP's problem, a solution to that problem, or anything at all for that matter. It was something Happy, and Boat could see on my profile to express their insecurities onto the conversation to try and "get me," I suppose.

With all of this said, I'm happy a Shipmate was able to square his rig away and hopefully have a great trip to warmer waters.

This place is awesome! It’s called Los Molcajetes
In Santa Rosa. Guy Fieri of Diners Drive-ins and Dives fame lives in Santa Rosa and highly endorses it. He’s also a diver and I saw him in our LDS getting set up.
Their combo Fajita is out of this world with chicken beef and seafood. They have a full tequila bar too with excellent Margaritas which has been closed and will be reopening when we go back to yellow tier.
Wings and tacos, sometimes it’s a good thing.
How is that for hijacking and derailing a thread?
I’m a pro.
I gotta go eat now.

This thread is getting hilarious to read. Also how many more variations of Hartattack's username can @boat sju come up with?

No, I'm done. I've irritated Mr. Hart enough, and my wife hid the bottle of Maker's Mark.

"Harttrick" would've been next if I were to continue. Sorry Hartattack I just had to get that last one out there. And I know you didn't want to, but the Ron Swanson reference cracked me up.

Come on I was laughing also.

In an interesting twist, I have a Tec40 student next week who has been using the halcyon 40 for diving with a single tank. They plan on using the same bcd for backmount doubles.

Apparently he has no concerns using that wing for a single tank. I became curious and looked it up on the halcyon website. They had this to say:

“Two different lift capacities allow easy pairing with small doubles or large, heavy steel tanks.”

The wording is a bit ambiguous.

on the other hand, Dive Rite recommends their 45 pound rec:

“A hybrid wing, the Rec Series can be worn on single or double tanks making it one of our most popular wings.”
