Our last visit, so many cruise ships that the grocery shelves were bare. Fewer and smaller sounds great. The USVI is pretty well rebuilt, so maybe they can get back to disrupting the F’sted pier.
Cruise people don't generally shop in the grocery stores, nor do they eat in the restaurants that much. The average cruiser is on the island for 6.5 hours and spends $85, mostly on excursions, T shirts, and trinkets. What decimates the store shelves are when a big KLM or TUI airliner full of people show up and they're all stocking up on their first week's worth of groceries for their holiday rentals.

One better idea in the new plan to reset tourism is fewer and smaller cruise ships. I doubt they'll pull that off but it's a nice thought.

Like the airlines operating at half-capacity for covid: smaller planes, and fewer of 'em, and they're all 101% full.

Exactly.

Perhaps, although this time, the food boat/s could not dock because of the doubled-up cruise boats—at least, that what the good folks at the van den Tweel advised. The boats were two-at-a-time.

And THAT has to stop!

You may blame the absence of little semicircles of Blue Castello on me. Can't get those in these United States.

?? We have it locally, and it is on Amazon too.

Given the island’s population of ~21,000, this seems like the best recent news:
